Passenger air bag comes on at times. Transmission some times will not move the car.

You randomly get no response when accelerating to move into traffic..like it's not getting any gas, then all of a sudden you can feel transmission going into gear as it finally catches. When in slow, crawling freeway traffic, it's always jerking when barely moving- as a manual transmission does when you don't give it enough gas...first time issues happened when I was making a left hand turn on a 50mph highway against oncoming traffic from a stop. This is not a sound vehicle in my opinion. You never know how long it's going to take to make turns into traffic or just leaving a parking spot..you get the herky-jerky until transmission catches. And it's not all the time, very random. Freeway driving is fine so far, which is what most of my commute is. But until reaching freeway speeds, it's always a worrisome drive.

Car doesn't always accelerate when you push gas peddle.I have to wait to pull into traffic because I am not sure car will go when I hit gas.never know when this will happen. Only happens from a stop or going slow.the Hyundai dealer said they have a different transmission in the 2019 Tucson.I am sure they will not do anything about it unless enough people get hurt or killed.I know two other people with the same vehicle and they have the same problem.

I've noticed a lag in pressing on the gas pedal many times, but there have been specific instances where it's been significant. I was pulling across traffic turning left from a stop, and it felt as though the engine stalled and took about 5 seconds to catch. This also occurs when pulling into my work parking lot that is on a hill, I often get stuck for about 5 seconds before it catches.

Horrible hesitation upon acceleration!!! afraid of having an accident. Also, last evening I was stuck in construction traffic and my transmission started overheating!!! a few minutes later the car stopped!! I was on a major road and now caused more of a traffic jam. The vehicle stalls while, from a stop, trying to merge into traffic. It seems to be a well known issue with this vehicle and the dealer told me just learn how to drive it. We have almost been hit several times due to this defect and my wife refuses to drive the Tucson. Hyundai too knows of this issue and has had no recall for this issue. I understand there has also been law suits for the lemon law against this vehicle but, the deep pockets of Hyundai's corporate lawyers always wins out. Do people have to become seriously injured or perhaps dead before a recall happens? the date below reflects the last time I was almost hit because the car started to move and then stopped.

Ever since purchase of the vehicle we have experienced hesitation when accelerating from a stop on a city street. This is very dangerous when making an unptotected left turn and the car won't pick up and go. I took it to the dealer and they made some adjustment but I am still having the problem.

While my vehicle was in motion, driving down a mountain highway at approx. 40 mph the RPM revved up to 5 RPM and would not come down even when coming to a complete stop and putting it into park. I also have constant hesitation with the engine when stopping at a light in town and then moving forward from a complete stop. The car jerks and their is delay to go when pressing the gas pedal after being stopped at a light. The car will at times not go into reverse when trying to back out of a parking space. I have found that when this happens I have to completely put car in park and turn the car off, then restart the car and put it into reverse before I can back it out successfully.

When accelerating from a stop, the vehicle is not responsive yet the rpms increase then making it jump and shudder, it is very difficult to control your speed when accelerating from a stop. Additionally, while at slow speeds, the vehicle shudders and bucks. This occurs in any situation where the vehicle is stopped; at stop signs, stoplights, stop and go traffic, while turning, etc..I have had this 2016 vehicle for one week and the did check safety recalls for the VIN. There were no unresolved recalls for this vehicle. However, I see that a recall concerning this issue was issued for my same year, make, and model. After doing some research, I have found hundreds of similar reports.

At certain instances, the vehicle won't move from a complete stop. I step on the accelerator and vehicle is not budging making me worry that the vehicle behind me will hit me. If it moves at all, there is a drag, then it will suddenly lunges forward where I almost hit the vehicle in front of me.

In August 2016 I purchased a 2016 Hyundai Tucson limited. Since day one, while in traffic the vehicle will begin to shudder until near stall. The shuddering occurs when either rolling forward, accelerating the gas, or sitting idle, as a result my car does not respond to acceleration at all times. During my first month of ownership the dealer did a software update which did not fix the problem. This is becoming increasingly dangerous, my wife's is the primary driver and she is reluctant to drive it for fear that she will be injured in an accident. I have been to the dealership numerous times and get no real answers except that the car checks out fine and they cannot duplicate the issue. They do, however, acknowledge that the problem is a design issue in the transmission. This problem persists no matter what drive mode I am in. I have tried turning off the ac but that has no affect. I had one instance where, while moving from stop to make a left turn in an intersection, the car stumbled and stalled in the intersection and we narrowly missed being hit by the car behind me. We help with transportation for the grandkids and we cannot drive the 10 year old in this car, she gets car sick from the shuddering/hesitation. As a result, we have to substitute another vehicle on the days we drive her.

Since taking ownership of the vehicle, I've experienced concerns with the vehicle bucking when moving at slow speeds such as in bumper to bumper traffic. The car hesitates to drive after a stop at an intersection and makes a winding noise when it finally does accelerate. One incident occurred when I was in the drive-thru lane at mcdonald's and the vehicle overheated. I had to pull over and allow the car to cool down for 30 minutes. Another incident occurred when driving in a parking mall structure with an inclined road, there several cars behind me and the vehicle overheated, I had to pull over in an unsafe location putting family and me in danger by vehicles passing by in a very narrow lane and allow the vehicle time to cool off again. Last week while at a shopping center I put the vehicle in reverse and it jolted forward almost striking a pedestrian. I've taken the car to the dealer countless times (service records are attached). The last diagnosis there was an internal oil leak in the transmission. They eventually ended up replacing the transmission with a remanufactured transmission, but the issue is still occurring. I have since parked the vehicle as I refuse to continue driving an unsafe car. I reached out to Hyundai and expressed my concerns, but no resolution has been reached. Please provide some support in getting this matter resolved.

Vehicle has the 1.6 liter turbo engine w/ dual clutch transmission. From a stop the vehicle hesitates to accelerate and then takes off. Tried being more aggressive on gas pedal but still hesitates, then it really shoots off. Vehicle has 3 modes of driving- normal, eco, sport. Tried all 3 and problem remains. Although I can't duplicate/confirm results it seems to operate [slightly] better in lower temps (50-70F degrees) vs hot temps (85-95F). Disconcerting or dangerous when pulling out into traffic.

When pulling out onto a road from a stop sign, my car will barely accelerate, and the rpms will race for a few seconds before the car suddenly lurches into gear and finally moves. This has caused several near accidents (thankfully, no accidents yet). This doesn't happen every time, but enough to be very dangerous, especially with new drivers in my house. I talked to the Hyundai service center, and they acted like they had never heard of such thing -- even though there are complaints all over the internet. They said to bring it in and they could try to duplicate it, but in the absence of a "check engine" light, they doubted they would find anything wrong. Also, when creeping along in traffic, the car shudders like it wants to stall. In either scenario, it's embarrassing to have passengers in the car. I can't wait to get rid of this car.
