Due to the dual clutch transmission, my vehicle shakes and stalls when trying to push on the gas and accelerate. The engine loses power and I'm stepping on the accelerator while my whole vehicle shakes and maybe goes forward about two feet over 20 seconds before it will actually start moving like it should, often times leaving me in an unsafe position if this happens while making a left hand turn and gaging when I can safely proceed through oncoming traffic.

Bought certified 2016 Hyundai Tucson turbo ltd with eco and dual clutch transmission. I've had it for 5 days. I bought it for my son and daughter to attend high school. The car kept acting like it was going to stall at every stop, it kept stuttering, and when you are accelerating and take your foot off the pedal the rpms keep rising, and doesn't switch gears. It refs and RPM goes up but it doesn't switch gears up or down shift either. The engine revs high and won't switch gears. It's like it wants to accelerate when you want it to slow down and when stopped it wants to stall. Today it happened. We came to a stop so we could turn left onto an onramp on highway, (have to cross over other lane to go on on ramp), and it stuttered and stalled on opposite oncoming traffic side, before we could reach the ramp. My son was driving and I was in front seat and daughter was in back seat, I got scared, as you can't see what coming over the hill on side we stalled (oncoming traffic). The guy saw we had stalled and ran out and started waving something down. It was an oncoming semi. Thankfully he was able to redirect him or we would have been struck. We got the car started again and were able to get home. I looked up what had happened and saw that there was a mass recall of my exact car model, in the exact time frame of vehicle being made. The recall was for the exact things that are and did happen to us. I contacted the dealer and asked them why they never divulged this information and they said the didn't know. I read on the NHTSA site that my exact SUV, made the same date, Hyundai had recalled, but mine for some reason is not. Problem is when I put my VIN in, nothing comes up for a recall. I don't want to put my kids back in this car. I just dropped $24,000 5 days ago in a car loan. Please help.

It shocks me the fatality rate with these vehicles isn't through the roof, I've taken my vehicle to the shop 4 times already and haven't had it 6 months yet, the complete loss of power when you accelerate is dangerous & I'm surprised accidents while pulling out into on coming traffic isn't extremely high, because the lack of power, pull, hesitation & at times nearly cutting off is gonna get someone hit by a semi and the only thing either of the Hyundai service departments say is "it's just the double clutch 7 gear transmission and that's normal, well if the transmission skipping and causing studdering hesitation and little to no acceleration when taking off is normal then I don't know how Hyundai is still in business, it's awful and it's dangerous. And omg is it embarrassing pulling through and drive through or easing up to a light or something, because it spits and sputters and jumps so badly and nearly cuts off, but I'm told by guys in the service dept it's normal because of the transmission that's in it!! w$#T+$7F?#$@

Car does not accelerate smoothly. When turning from a stop, car hesitates. When merging with traffic, car hesitates. Car accelerates too fast from a stop when temperature is over 85 F. transmission is too inconsistent. Makes driving this car a gamble with your life. After several repairs by dealer to fix problems, they now say this transmission is a hybrid. It works more like a manual transmission. It was sold as an automatic transmission. Dealer says there is nothing that can correct problem. The repairs they have made are; recall update dct control logic, replace temp. Sensor and ECU update dct; seal vacuum pump update tcu (reset).

I purchased my 2016 Tucson new in March 2016 it currently has approximately 58,500 miles on it. I have always taken my car to the dealer for all oil changes and regular maintenance requirements. I never had any problems until recently, in stop and go traffic the car bucks and feels like it will stall, more than it used to several months ago. That I could deal with however, it also became unreliable when I was taking off from a red light, stop sign etc. I would step on the gas and the car would not move forward I have lost count how many times it has done this since the end of March. The first time I took my car to key Hyundai they told me they needed to duplicate what I was telling them. After a few hours I got a call and was told they could not duplicate the issue, so they checked for any diagnostic issues found none so to "keep me happy" they did a dual clutch relearn. I took the car home and really noticed very little difference. Then within a couple of weeks it started repeating the hard bucking and again there were a few times that after I stopped to wait for traffic or a green light I would step on the gas and go nowhere no matter how far down I pressed the gas pedal until all of the sudden it would move forward. I brought the car back to Hyundai on May 6, 2019 and for the last 10 days they say they have not been able to duplicate the problem and there is nothing they can do. I am due to pick up my car from them tomorrow and they will have done nothing even though they know I am a loyal customer and have never had a complaint prior to this, and even though they told me there are known issues with this car and what I am describing and that is because when they called Hyundai they were told that they must duplicate the issue or no repair. That now leaves my safety in question when driving my car.

When I push the acceleration from a complete stop the vehicle will not accelerate. It also jerks when slowing down from gear 2 to 1.this happens a lot on the city street or when in traffic and has almost caused wrecks multiple times. I have taken it to a machanic and they replaced the spark plugs and coils but the vehicle is still doing this and I am unable to drive it in fear of a crash until find out if this is the same recall from other 2016 Hyundai Tucson transmission electrical system maybe. The car jumps when moving off from a stop. In some cases the car stops moving ahead and it feels like the car is not in gear. The car then transmission reengages and the car accelerates hopping some times. When you stop again this happens again but at the next stop it might not happen.

I purchased the 2016 Hyundai Tucson in October 2015. The following year I noticed that sometimes when I'm stopped and go to accelerate, my car will not go anywhere for a few seconds then it takes off. This is very dangerous when it comes to pulling out onto a busy street. It didn't happen often but has gotten worse over the years. Now lately, I have been getting 'check bsd system' warnings. This happened once one day and then increased significantly since. Now my car will give that warning, acts like it shuts off, and wont go anywhere and I'll have to restart my car. Or sometimes it will be in 2nd or 3rd gear and that warning will pop up and immediately shift to 0. after this happens there are 5-6 warning lights that light up on the dash board, including the check engine light. This has progressed over the last 3 days, ultimately making my car not drivable. I am taking it in tomorrow. Every time this happens I've been in 'drive' and either stopped at a light or evening in motion.

About four months after we purchased our vehicle, it began rattling when we would slow down to park or make turns. The best way I can explain is like when a manual transition is about to shut off because its not going in to the correct gear. We took the vehicle to the dealership and they told us that because of the dual transmission, this was expected. They said that putting in eco or sport mode the issue would be less noticeable. They even showed us a video about the dual transmission thinking that this would help fix our car. We have returned at least three more times we the same concern and have been told there is nothing wrong with the car since the computer determined nothing was wrong. The biggest concern I have is that the rattling has become worse and more consistent and that the car may stop all of a sudden when im making a turn or I can cause an accident.

My Hyundai Tucson transmission does not shift in a logical and predictable manner, occasionally not responding when I need acceleration such as pulling into traffic at a junction. My wife nearly had a collision when the transmission did not respond correctly when needed. Additionally the clutch judders and shakes the whole vehicle when moving slowly in traffic and when pulling away from a stop. If you have read any of the 300 or more complaints in this section you will know that there is a serious design problem with the transmission in this car and it is not fixed regardless of the recalls or bulletins to date. Most likely Hyundai are not reporting their complaint levels to you as they should which keeps the wolves from the door, but it doesn't take much time reading all these complaints to understand there is a serious problem that is unresolved. The transmission is electronically controlled and the software engineers just cannot possibly predict all given driver or driving conditions. Consequently on almost every trip in this car there is a late shift, early shift or hesitation that will occur, something that is not what I expect of it. I have a short uphill driveway to my garage, and every time I park on the driveway I'm not sure if I'm going to hit the garage door or not. I have just no confidence in its control-ability at all. The recall didn't fix anything no matter what Hyundai tells you and now 3 years into the model its still the same. You cannot turn a blind eye to this and hope it goes away. Hyundai in the meantime has abandoned this transmission for '19 on the Tucson and they want the problem to disappear, but this is their way of dealing with it. Problem was originally reported to Hyundai in April 2016 - about 6 months after purchase

Once per day, while driving on flat ground, the car displays the message "steep grade! press brake pedal" (page 5-20 in the owners manual). When this happens, the car completely dies and can not accelerate. I have to put my hazards on and coast to the side of the road! this is extremely dangerous! I have taken it to the dealership 3 times, however they claim they cannot reproduce it. The problem happens for me once per day! I opened a case with Hyundai corporate but the case is open and unresolved because the problem is intermittent and only happens once per day. An intermittent problem is still a safety hazard, especially when it causes the driver to lose the ability to control the vehicle! it is a safety issue that could directly cause an accident. The NHTSA needs to be aware of this and Hyundai and their dealerships need to take ownership and make corrective actions before someone gets seriously injured by this defect. I have a video of the issue occurring that I'm happy to share as well.
