Tucson Limited 4 cyl

  • Automatic transmission
  • 1,000 miles

Car was in the garage for 2 days, went to start it on a Sunday morning and the battery was dead, this is a car we had for 2 months with 1000 miles. Placed a volt meter on the battery and it read 3 volts. Called roadside assistance to jump start the car. Took the car to the Hyundai dealer the next day and asked them to replace the battery. They said the battery checked out OK no problems and the car had no abnormal voltage draw. I asked why the battery was dead the other day and they could not give me a answer. Talked to the service manager about the problem and he said since the battery checked OK he could not replace the battery, but he said if it happened again he would replace it. It is very odd this battery would be dead on a new car. On this car when the ignition is shut off all electrical items no longer function except the alarm system which should not draw much voltage.
