Getting the oil changed and with in a week, I am adding another quart of oil. Hyundai, said, there is not a recall on this engine. They also said, the oil consumption is only for certain vehicles, the 2016 Tucson should have been bought back by Hyundai and pulled off the market. I have always owned a Hyundai , I will never have another one in this lifetime. The complaints on this vehicle and nothing is being done about the engine. The heater doesn't work either!!!! I am disappointed !! It is costing me a fortune having to buy oil weekly, this is ridiculous!!!!

This car has been using oil for sometime. Oil changed with in 500 miles oils is low. Engine sounds awful. Call Corporate office about this situation, 2016 isn't on the list for engine issues, so many complaints online about 2016 engine using excess oil. The manager was rude and didn't want to answer questions I had. 2016 Tuscon has so many issues and Hyundai doesn't want to cover their issues!

This vehicle burns oil at a ridiculous pace. After 1,000 miles from oil change, the levels are already below the "low" marker. I have been told several times when getting an oil change (on schedule) - there is no oil in your vehicle. Someone finally told me that this was a common issue with this particular style of engine. I have not seen any recommended fixes for this. I'm now doing top-offs in between regular oil changes.

I bought the Hyundai Tuscan SUV back in 26 October 2016, it was the first car I bought and was simply abused by the dealer sales rep. he convinced me that this SUV has extended warranty bumper to bumper for 10 years or 160,000 km. The dealership sold me more than 8 K of unnecessary options that I didn’t use, such as rust protection, tire warranty, theft security etc.

In less than 1 month of driving the car exactly on 25-Nov-2016 (black Friday) the car made a very high error alarm on the dash with error code that didn’t stop except when I pulled over on the highway and shut down the car for more than 15 min then it showed the mal function indicator lamp with high heat coming from the paddle direction and transmission part.

This indicator kept showing till I took it to the dealership where they said it was perfectly well and nothing wrong with the car. After that incident I start feeling some hesitation and slowing down while trying to accelerate and as usual when going to the dealership – they deny any issue.

In Jan 2017 I got a recall letter for the transmission issue and send it to dealership, and they mentioned recall has been done and the car is perfectly well.

I started experiencing the same issue multiple times after the recall fix and every time I complain to the dealership, they deny any problem. I even escalated the issue to CAMVAP but what happened was really not fair CAMVAP made a really long investigation time with a very lengthy process that exceeded 6 months and they did not use any third party to check the car (only approved Hyundai dealership results and believed their denials as a fact) and at the end gave me the offer to pay 10000 cad to return the car (finance) they even mentioned that I cannot sue Hyundai by signing with CAMVAP it was a disaster experience that make you feel Hyundai and CAMVAP both worked against you.

I lived with the car till 2019 with very cautious usage and regular maintenance through the dealership and even changing tires and fixing lights through dealership.

The transmission issue was still happening with increased deterioration of the transmission performance, from mid 2019 to end of 2021 I almost rarely used the car during the pandemic that is why I started having long time between maintenance.

On 19 Jan 2022 I took it to the dealership to change oil and was surprised that they told me I have serious issue on the engine, and I am out of warranty. I told them to double check the extended warranty to know that there is no extended warranty on the SUV and there is no extended warranty on the transmission recall and no extended warranty on the engine.

I made all types of escalation through the dealership and even send to Hyundai Canada and all my complains was refused I took the car for checkup for the first time in my life to a third party service center to inform me that I do have serious engine and transmission issues , they also informed me that the automatic portable device that check engine error codes are not retrieving any error codes from the car by mean some one on the dealership has disconnected the electronic diagnostic device on the car It is clear for me now that dealership has simply manipulated the vehicle diagnostic electronics to avoid any errors on the engine and transmission.

Now in less than 5 years of proper driving and maintenance and last 2 years rare usage the car is falling apart with potential failed engine and transmission.

I bought a brand new 2016 Tuscan in Hyundai dealership, London Ontario.

2019 There was engine oil issues and repaired by warranty. 2021 June, as recalled engine car model, this vehicle was checked in dealer shop for 50 minutes, and no problem they told me. 2021 August, just two months later, Engine's problem was diagnosed as engine failure.

Dear shop refuse to warranty-repair because this vehicle does not have extended warranty, having 130000km.

MY claim 1. 2016 Tuscan is a notorious engine-recalled car, and actually started being a problem in 2019 and repaired some parts. 2. Because of the engine recalled car, two months ago, in June 2021, a car was checked in the dealer maintenance shop, which the engine was supposed to be checked, but now they say that they did not check engine. Then what the auto dear shop checked if they did not check engine? 3. And then just after 2 months, in August 2021, they charged diagnose fee and then told me the problem of engine failure. 4. They do not want to repair or change the engine by their responsibility.

I was told by my mechanic that there is a known problem with this engine. It burns oil. The car only has 71,000 miles and the oil was changed every 6000 miles. I bought the car used with 26000 miles. At the time I was told I had a 10 year/100000 mile warranty on the engine and transmission. My Hyundai dealer said this only applies to the original owner. Being that the engine has a known defect, I feel it should be fixed under warranty.

I have been buying Hyundai's for years. I have a 2015 Hyundai Sonata hybrid. About 2 years ago, the hybrid batteries died. I bought the car used with 13500 miles on it. Hyundai repaired the car under the 10year/100,000 drive train warranty. If they honored the drive train warranty for my Sonata, why won't they honor it for my Tuscon?
