When stepping on the gas pedal, from a complete stop, the car does not immediately go. It slowly moves, and then takes off after about 2-3 seconds. If stepping lightly on the gas pedal, moving slowly ("creeping"), as if through a parking lot, the vehicle shutters and jerks.

There is an issue with the sport models that have the dual clutch transmission. The vehicles hesitate when accelerating from a stop and will then launch forward once the gear engages. The rpms will shoot to 3 and then drop to just above 0 multiple times before the vehicle reaching 20 mph. My vehicle is also making a rattling sound when idling and accelerating at slow speeds. Hyundai has done their recall update but it is not completely fixing this issue and just making it slightly less dramatic. I have asked Hyundai multiple times to address this and they are refusing to address ot saying it is just a characteristic of the dual clutch transmissions to avoid having to repair the vehicles. I had a tech at Hyundai tell me that Hyundai will say it's normal but it's not normal. Please please investigate. My vehicle failed to accelerate when I was merging from a stop to another lane with oncoming traffic at 40 mph on a city street, it took a few seconds before the transmission engaged and moved. It also hesitated while I was turning from a driveway and then jerked and kicked forward. This is not safe !

Various issues have come up with my Tucson related to misc items which were repaired. I also noticed an issue with acceleration from stop. The car would hesitate when you started to proceed from a stop. The dealership said the engine needs time to get broke in so after it will fix itself. Each time I took the car to the dealership for service, they stated they had checked everything out and performed service and found no issues. I was never told about any recalls or defects in manufacturing. Recently, the problem became dangerous. The car would hesitate at stop lights and almost caused two accidents. On one occasion, it was in heavy traffic and the car would not go after pressing the gas and then it surged forward almost hitting the car in front of me and the car behind me almost hit me also. I took the car back to the dealership, a rep from the service dept.drove the car and stated, 'you could drive cross country, and there is no problem'. within days of this incident, another was narrowly avoided and I had enough. The car would not accelerate at a stoplight and then at the next it hesitated and then surged forward almost causing an accident. I returned to the dealership and demanded they figure out the problem and fix it! the dealership took my Tucson to inspect. After a day, they called and told me I needed an entire new transmission. That the original transmission was not operating correctly and required a full replacement, they also said there was a problem with drive shaft which they also would need to fix and finally another problem with the A/C which would require full replacement as well. After two years and a full warranty, the dealership "checking everything" during each service and now only after my demand, and my pleading do they find problems'and all major problems. I got my car back, but now the heating and A/C is not operating right.

When the vehicle is stationary (example: I come to a stop at a stop sign or stop light) then try to move again, the car won't move and there is a lull when I give it gas. This is a dangerous problem with the dual clutch transmission. The engine "revs" but the car wouldn't move after coming to a stop. I have had a few instances where I become stuck in the middle of the road for a minute.

2016 Tucson limited with 1.6 turbo engine. I have had recent problems with the car bogs down or seem to cut of when I accelerate from a stop or very low speed. This has happened when I am trying to merge in traffic from an off ramp, pulling out of a parking lot and trying to get in another lane in traffic from a stop. As soon as I pressed the accelerator the car would stop as if the engine ha cut off. I have to try to manually downshift to1st gear or switch to a sport mode for the car to respond. In heavy traffic trying to merge from an off ramp or change lanes or even leaving parking lots to merge on highway. This has occurred quite frequently and I have some very narrow mishaps with cars slamming on their brakes to avoid running in to me. I am a very experienced driver who has driving professionally for over thirty years including tractor trailers with many safety awards. It is only because of my experience that a serious accident has been avoided so far. Each time this has happened I reported it to the dealer service department and asked if there were any recalls or service notices and have had no recourse this seems to be getting worse over the nearly two years I have the car. I am afraid to let my wife drive the car for fear that she might be involved in a serious or worse accident. The dealer has only told me not to drive in eco mode any more, I have done every thing they ask including using premium gas, more service driving in different modes. I have driven many different types of vehicles, cars and trucks and have never had this problem with a new vehicle and the service tech has no idea what to do.

When pushing the gas pedal the truck doesn't move or sometimes hesitates a long period of time. If sometimes the car moves and sometimes it doesn't you cant judge to safely switch lanes, merge on to high speed highways, turn etc. This is a very dangerous car and it has a mind of its own. Hyundai blames it on the "specialized eco transmission" this car is a death trap. This has been a problem since I bought the vehicle Aug 2016.

My car turned off twice while driving with no indicators lighting up. I was going to take it for oil change closer to my work; but had to pull over the vehicle started to knock again no indicators came on. I finally get to a dealership for Kia and agent told me they had to check for recalls on the engine because past cars like 2014,2015,2016 all had engine trouble. Then told me engine is knocking and I should park it to avoid further damage. I told him but car is only a year old. Bought it in 2016 brand new; but because of my negligence of getting the oil change on time; I have to cover my own repairs.---again no indicator telling me its out of oil or running hot came on.

Since I bought the car in Dec 2015 this has happened 3 times. While I am driving the message "battery discharge warning! please use the system with engine running" at Hyundai of louisville in dixie they said nothing was wrong. Latest time it happened 11/30/17 while driving it for oil change to Hyundai oxmor I asked to have that message checked they said it was just a glitch. The 3 times I am driving (highway and street), so the engine is running. After turning the engine off and on again it quit.

My Tucson will randomly not accelerate when the gas pedal is pushed. I am constantly in fear to pull out in traffic because it frequently will not move and then will lurch forward into traffic. I have had a recall performed twice and the issue is still ongoing. The dealer stated they didn't know what was wrong. I am concerned for the safety of my family. In addition, this week the vehicle made a loud popping noise in the front end and now their is vibration in the steering and what feels like a wobble under the front pedals.

This car has had a problem accelerating from a stopped position since I purchased it in April 2016. When pressing the accelerator from a stopped position, the engine will rev but the car will only creep slowly forward into traffic. This is an intermittent problem that happens several times a month. Despite performing the recall and recall updates on the transmission, the acceleration problem still persists.

I purchased a brand new 2016 Hyundai Tucson. About a month later, we started experiencing a problem with the vehicle. While accelerating, the car seems to lose power and stalls. Then all of a sudden, the power kicks on and causes the car to jolt. This happens erratically and at least 2X per month. It's incredibly dangerous, especially when it happens while I am in an intersection. I received a letter from Hyundai regarding this recall, but the service did not help my vehicle at all. I called the dealership to have it looked at again, and the man stated that this is a common complaint, but the Hyundai corporation is stating that this is 'normal' for dual transmissions.

I have had my Hyundai for one year and 2 months. About a few months in I had problems with after stopping I tried to hit the gas and the car would rev up and then not go anywhere. I have taken it to Hyundai 4 times now because they have had recalls and tried to get it fixed. After the 3rd time I brought it in it seemed to be working fine. I recently went in to get an oil change and they fixed something however that caused my car to be messed up again but this time worse. I was on the highway where it is 75 miles and my car all of a sudden started slowing down. I hit the gas and it would not go. Its like it kept jumping in and out of gear. It did this for the whole 45 mins it took me to get to work on a busy highway. It even went as low as 50 miles an hr in a 75. I have several videos I took showing it slowing down and then reving up and not moving when hitting the gas. I was so scared it would stall out all together on the highway. This is completely unsafe and I was scared I was going to hit.

I am filing a complaint regarding the Hyundai Tucson 2016. I purchased this vehicle in May 2016. I notice that it often revved up to 5000 RPM at 2-5miles and would not move then suddenly lurch. This happened for months, I called the dealer and they brushed off. Two weeks ago while trying to merge on the highway, I pressed the gas but the car would not move only revved then out of nowhere it launched and almost hit another car. Then today, it literally went dead?dead! while driving at 25 mph on fordham rd (a busy street the bronx) the car slowly lost power and stopped for 2-3 seconds. Then start up again. This car is a death trap!!! some one could have run in the back of my car. I have been to the dealer twice and they claimed to fix the dct but that's crap. Hyundai who has done nothing and they know this vehicle is unsafe. I cant even drive my 2 yr goddaughter in this thing. I think Hyundai is waiting for someone to die. They need to stop selling this car immediately and refund everyone's money.

Car stalls/hesitates and won't accelerate from a dead stop and stalls when making turns or on hills/elevations. This happens on highways, local and city streets and the car feels unsafe to drive. I am so concerned that my young children and I am going to get in some type of an accident in this vehicle and hopefully it is not a serious or deadly one! Hyundai dealer has been informed by me of this issue and just simply insists that this is due to the dct of the vehicle!!! this is not an acceptable answer to what feels to be a deadly issue for owners of this vehicle.

I read an article stating the Hyundai Tucson connects with carplay. Turns out only the expensive models do. Hyundai installs a small communication screen on the eco, which is the model I bought, that is not equipped to receive carplay data. What is needed to enable the safety feature" will you require Hyundai to enable the car's communication device; that is, to enable carplay or to replace the install with a receiver and screen that will work"

Problems with vehicle since purchase. Brought cat back to dealer for repair 4 times, but problems still remain. Prior to last software upgrade, car would not accelerate after stopping, would jerk without warning, slow going up hill, would roll back, and would stop and then propel forward. Once last recall (3) done, the car still in not driving appropriately. Car runs rough, still jerks, still slow to go up hill and still intermittently stops. Transmission warning (over heated) came on, yet the computer did not make note of it when read for problems as if it never happened. Car is unsafe, is not driving as expected nor as it should. Gas mileage is also very low, considerably lower than what was promised upon purchase.

While driving the vehicle in normal around town traffic, we have had several incidents where an alarm began sounding, and the instrument panel displayed "transmission temperature is high! stop". we've taken the vehicle to have the dealer investigate, but they find nothing, can't duplicate it, and no indication that it even displayed the warning. They said it might be related to the current recall for the dct transmission on the Hyundai Tucson. I've contacted Hyundai and tried to ask if the dealer may be correct, but they said they can only refer me back to the dealer. It can be difficult and unsafe to find a place to "stop safely" at the drop of a hat as it demands.
