problem #1

Jul 162018

Tucson Limited

  • Automatic transmission
  • 22,000 miles

First occurrence was on July 14 when it would not move forward. The transmission light came on and it overheated and the smell was horrid.. I let it sit to cool off so I could move the front end to the side of road. It only moved a bit and would not go any further. I was at a trail head so I left it sit until Monday July 16 when we returned to car. I backed the car down the road because I was fearful to go forward and get stuck on the road and block traffic. I made it to the interstate and proceeded to go forward. It seemed alright. As soon as I had to incline a bit on Interstate 70 it overheated, it stunk and would not go forward. We were stuck on interstate 70 for 5 hours before Hyundai's tow truck rescue finally came to us.

I had made several phone calls since they told me it would be about a 2 hour wait time. It was towed to Hyundai dealership. I picked my car up on July 19 and was told it was fine. They could not find anything wrong with it. Kindly gave me some paper work to watch some videos referencing dual clutch transmission operation and good practices. I am extremely fearful of this problem reoccurring again! I live in Colorado and I need my vehicle to be dependable!
