Since shortly after purchase, the vehicle's backup camera has experienced blacking out after the initialization blackout with regular frequency. When putting the car in reverse the screen initially shows a black screen until the camera intializes. Then the picture of behind the vehicle shows, followed by the backup guide lines. With the vehicle in motion in reverese the camera will again periodically turn black obstructing the view of the driver. The vehcile has been brought in multiple times for repair but the service departemnt frequently says they cannot replicate the issue. After getting Hyundai North America involved the service department took it in again. This time we were able to replicate the issue. The rear camera was replaced but this did not resolve the concern. Upon return to the service department including an open ticket with Hyundai's technical service line, the service department thought they had replicated the issue but only saw the initialization black out at which point they claimed this is as "works as designed". this was not the issue, the issue is once the system has loaded and the vehicle is in motion it blacks out causing a safety issue when backing out onto streets and in busy parking lots.

The bright light / turn signal arm has an off..auto..on rotating end that controls the headlights/dash/bright-dim control. When the lights are on bright you have to pull the switch arm to dim the lights. The trouble is the rotating end moves from auto to off, shutting all the light dash etc off. Since you are driving at 55 to 75 mph and all the lights go off leaving you moving high speed in the dark Hyundai is endangering my life and the lives of the passengers intentionall because of the poor incompetant design. They should re design the switch arm and remove the light switch from the end of the turn signal arm. I have to take nitro glycerine because I'm scared to death. Other drivers have the exact same problem. All tuscons should be removed from the road until this is fixed. The dealer doesn't care. Hyundai should be fined and jailed for dangerous engineering. It happens multiple times!

When accelerating from a stopped position, the vehicle would go into first gear and accelerate for a few seconds, then would try to move up to a higher gear and get suspended for about 5-7 seconds as if it could not find the next gear. This has happened 2-3 times so far. Also, when I have tested the response of accelerating by pressing the gas while traveling at a low speed, the vehicle would not respond as expected. On several occasions, I pushed the pedal to the floor and the engine only responded as if I was slightly accelerating. I have a 1.6 turbo. Additionally, I have had the lights on my dashboard go out - except for my radio/navigation system. I suspect this had to do with a sensor as it was dusk and my lights tripped some electrical or software defect. I was going down a major highway around Washington D.C. at the time and could not see any of the driving controls for approx 20 seconds. I am not sure if my headlights went out at that time but eventually, after flipping my lights off and on and pressing the dash light to maximum, the lights on the dashboard returned. Last week, the audio of my radio/navigation system would not work. After leaving my car and locking it for about 20 minutes and returning, the sound was working again. I took a video of this. The temperature in my vehicle was not regulating properly while stationary. The dealership said there was a bad sensor and replaced it. It has worked great since then. However, I am still having major problems accelerating from a stopped position from a red light or turning into a road, or accelerating from a very slow speed. My vehicle is now in a second dealership trying to resolve this issue that still lingers. This is causing me to feel very insecure about driving my vehicle. I am second owner. First owner had only put 2500 miles on it and traded it in. Probably a bad sign.

The vehicle failed to accelerate on a circle causing me and another vehicle to collide. I have taken the car into the shop on numerous occasions the first time at 150 miles on the odometer and continuing for over a year, each time the dealership insists that no problem exists or existed, neither Hyundai nor the dealership will acknowledge that there is an inherent safety issue with this 7 speed transmission, this vehicle decelerates, hesitates from a stop and does not always handle in a safe manner. I am extremely careful and cognizant of these issues when I am driving always taking extra precautions however, in this instance that slight hesitation in acceleration was enough to produce severe damage to my vehicle, substantial monetary loss and injury.

My car was parked in my driveway. I only had it less than a month (new). I tried to remote start it & it wouldnt work. I went outside to start it & it wouldn't turn over, all lights on dash were lit up. I lifted my hood- a squirrel nest was built under hood. Wiring harness chewed up, insulation under my hood ripped off, numerous areas of hard plastic covering my headlight under hood and along inside frame of car all chewed up. All things chewed were made of soy based materials.I had my car towed to my mechanic, not Hyundai due to the fact that they don't accept responsibility. I had similar problems (3X) w/my Honda 2014 CRV that's why I got rid of it. I was told by both Honda & Hyundai "its not covered, it's not a manufacturing defect, it's caused by outside circumstances/ rodents. Use your auto insurance". this is a manufacturing defect because they use soy which attracts these rodents. Soy wiring harnesses should be banned and recalls instituted to remedy the problem by either replacing the harnesses with standard synthetic non-edible polymers as appropriate to the specific application, or providing coatings that provably prevent rodents from consuming the insulation over the lifespan of the vehicle. I can't even park in my own driveway for fear of more damage that I have to pay for due to the use of soy. This problem is all over the internet caused by soy used by various car makers. Please do something about this asap.

Hesitation on acceleration, dual clutch transmission. Reported problems with the 2016 Tucson. My vehicle is a 2017 Tucson SE plus, the problems are the same as previously reports regarding the 2016 model. The existing recall needs to be broadened to include 2017's. plus, I understand the computer software upgrade does not guarantee a permanent repair. Very dangerous. My car was purchased in may of 2017 and has less than 1300 miles. The problem was first discovered today while doing daily errands.
