I had the car for approximately 2 days. I was driving the car at night when the entire interior of the car became dim, and the electrical system failed all together, so I rolled to a stop placed the car in park and restarted the vehicle. I drove approximately 3 minutes more and it happened again. I restarted the vehicle. The car went in for servicing the following day. The service manager said that there were no codes, it must have been a loose wire or ground and they returned the vehicle.

Now almost 10 months later and approximately 33,335 miles, it happened again. I was driving the vehicle, approaching a stop light , the electrical system cut off entirely, so I pulled over and restarted the car. The dealer had the car for over a week. claimed no codes were present. They couldn't recreate the condition, and the Hyundai Regional manager didn't help at all, told me to continue driving the car or bring it to another dealer. I told him to drive a car that decides whenever it wants to fail electrically and stall while driving. The car was again returned to me, without any remedy. I told the service manager, how do I produce evidence of an intermittent problem that doesn't log in the computer module. He had no advice at all.

Well, here we go again, the same problem that occurred the 2nd day of ownership crops up again 33,335 mile later and under almost the same driving conditions. This situation occurs while in motion, at random and can be very dangerous if in heavy traffic on the highway. Lost of all electrical systems while driving without producing a computer code is now turned into a mystery on how to fix the problem by the dealer. Or is it?

Upon investigating the problem more on the internet, this time I am finding that Hyundai owners are having the same issue with their Tucsons and that the dealers are telling the owner the same explanation as I am receiving. We can't fix the problem if there are no computer codes present, maybe others have worked on the car, squirrels could have eaten the wires etc.

No one has worked on my new 2018 vehicle that is still under warranty - why would I pay for service if its under warranty? There is something very wrong going on with this vehicle make and the company is hiding a severe malfunction.

By the way, the regional manager on the west coast offered no help or assistance and was also in my opinion aware of these issues, but was under direction to tell customers to take their car to another dealer or keep driving a defective vehicle until a code is logged by the computer... I told him to drive the car until it happens to him if he feels that safe... he put the phone down for over 3 minutes, when be came back, he said am I finished, I said so your telling me to continue to drive an unsafe car? The phone call was ended by him.... Terrible customer service, no offer of assistance, and combative - probably one of the worst customer relationship experiences I ever had with a major company.

After a little over a month of acquiring this car it shut down while I was driving on a major interstate freeway. I was barely able to get it off the freeway and could not use my cellphone to call for help as it was trying to sync to the car which was now completely dead. It was towed to the purchasing dealer who diagnosed it as a bad ground wire. I am terrified to drive this car again and have tried to work with Hyundai to resolve this, as I want out of the lease and have rented a car in the meantime. Car is still at the dealership, all Hyundai will offer is two months of car payments. My passenger and I could have been injured or worse as I had to navigate over 4 lanes. Lemon Law states problem has to happen 3 times, but I cannot take a chance two more times.
