The vehicle was taken to an independent mechanic where it was diagnosed and determined that the brake light needed to be replaced. The independent mechanic informed the contact that the brake light housing case had melted. The dealer was contacted to purchase a new housing case. The contact purchased the part, and the vehicle was taken to the independent mechanic and the vehicle was repaired; however, the failure persisted. The manufacturer was made aware of the failure. The failure mileage was approximately 100,000.
