AWD warning light illuminated under 20K miles. Took vehicle to dealer, dealer advised that vehicle was unsafe to drive. Unknown ETA on parts or repair time. Dealer did advised that it's a warranty issue. Other circumstances surrounding this issue: Issue 1 6 Weeks ago wife received email from Hyundai indicating vehicle was due for service. Wife took vehicle to dealer, she was turned away and advised that service was required. Issue 2 I phone Hyundai corporate from work where all calls are recorded. Phone system has beeping sound every 30 seconds. Hyundai rep was also advised verbally that calls were recorded. Into the phone call she asked if she was being recorded and I advised her yes. She said that their policy prohibits customers from recording their calls. I asked for copy of that policy that I never received. Issue 3 I then scheduled appointment with same dealership and took time off work. Arrived and was advised internet was down all day and they couldn't service vehicles. Was advised I would receive callback. 3 weeks and never received. Issue 4 Approx 6-8 weeks into this issue and revisited dealership. Within 40 minutes they advised me the vehicle was unsafe to drive. Summary It is believed that the vehicle may have been unsafe to drive for many weeks. Where service facility had opportunity to run diag scan, but never did.

I bought a -??22 Tucson Hybrid in Sept of -??22. Upon delivery there were issues w paint & a dent on the rear qtr panel. The bigger issue however, is disconnect in communication between the EV motor, gas engine & transmission. All work is done @dealership and well maintained. History of EV over 8 months: @1000 miles noise under vehicle began. Dealership inspected, all checked out. The dealership has done all servicing as scheduled. From 1000 to 12,000 miles, the vehicle drove best if in sport mode. Sport mode utilizes the gas engine and not EV. When in EV modes, the vehicle runs high rpms or it-??s sluggish. It-??s never consistent. In some instances; the vehicle will actually stall for 2-3 seconds and kick back on. 1 instance was at a stop light, turning left. Mid turn, gas to the floor, the vehicle stalled for 3 seconds before responding. I was almost hit at 50 mph in the intersection as both motors failed me. The next day, 3 lights came on: An EV, check engine and Hybrid motor light came on, 3 total. My Hyundai app stated: issue communicating EV and Gas motor, EMS communication error. This cleared itself in 36 hrs but I couldn-??t drive it safely for a week. I took it to the dealership, everything checked out. 3 days ago @ 17,400 miles, I received a text: Hyundai stated car unfit to drive. DTC code U062300, U111200, U02BB0:Powertrain EMS issue. The techs had it 2 days, fixed it. 3 blocks from dealer, check engine light came on again. I returned it to dealer. I-??ve found 32 accounts of these codes resulting in a Hyundai buy-back, new engine, new transmission or settlements. I-??m told my EV motor, gas engine and transmission won-??t communicate even after software / firmware updates & mechanical changes. I don-??t feel the vehicle to be roadworthy and I don-??t feel safe driving it, if Hyundai has no fix. I-??m told, many sales of this model @ my dealer have the same issues. Bad batch? I paid $47k (car & warr) I-??m hoping for a buy back or to get into a Toyota hybrid of = value

Sudden loss of power and speed on freeway traveling at 75 mph almost caused a rear end collision by tailgating semi. Pulled over onto shoulder with engine shaking and bucking and luckily limped off nearby exit. Engine control system error popped up. Engine would barely start and stall quickly and eventually would not restart at all. This is the cars second sudden power loss and engine problem at speed since. Not acceptable for a brand new car.

First occurrence was on 6JAN23 when the vehicle was being driven and it suddenly and quickly reduced speed to under 30mph. Vehicle then continued to go up in RPMS to nearly 4,000 but the car felt like the transmission was not engaged and driving in neutral then would engage and disengage, causing fluctuations in speed, but never above 30-35 mph. This continued to happen until we could pull over safely and turn off the vehicle and restart. No engine light or warnings illuminated. Vehicle was taken to the dealer for diagnostic and nothing was found. Second occurrence was 01ARP23, with exactly the same results. In doing some research I have found several other complaints with this issue. This is a serious accident waiting to happen.

Within only two weeks of purchase this new car would suddenly stall in the middle of the road. The computer tells you to pull over. We continued to try and get the dealer to fix this issue, they first ignored us, then they secondly tried and successfully replicated the issue. They said there is no way they can fix the issue. This dangerous stalling in the middle of the road happened numerous times. You will push the pedal all the way to the ground and it won-??t go over 20mph. This is a very dangerous issue and these vehicles need to stop being sold. It is very dangerous. We have been left without our money back and without a car to drive for months. We cannot drive the Tucson as it is simply too dangerous and must be towed to go anywhere for salvage.

2022 2.5L HTRAC Tucson (Current Mileage: 27,088) This issue became notably clear roughly around the 12,000-to-15,000-mile mark on the vehicle. It's also worth mentioning that since month one of ownership, the vehicle has displayed some unnatural characteristics. Under hard throttle the engine created a tone that was very much discomforting and not confidence inspiring. It was abundantly clear the engine struggles to move this heavy AWD vehicle. The vehicle is so aggressive when it comes to shifting up to the next gear, I find myself doing 38-40 mph and the vehicle would be in 8th gear. When I would try to accelerate naturally the vehicle growls and vibrates and makes crunchy sounds as it struggles to accelerate against 8th gear. It's gotten so loud it can be heard over the AC and low volume radio. It's across the board as well, this issue occurs at highway speeds down to neighborhood driving. It will wholistically shift into too high of a gear whenever its possible, and the only way to prevent this experience is to manually shift the vehicle. This demonstrates that the driver is smarter in shifting requirements over the TCU. Furthermore, the gas milage for the first 12-to-15,000 miles failed to meet the specified expectations, additionally, the computer is aggressive in its calculations for the achieved MPG, and hand calculations tend to show they are off by 2 to 3 mpg consistently. I took the opportunity to change the oil in the vehicle early (1,500 miles) knowing that break in periods could have small metal build up as components seat and find their mark etc. To my Suprise, I was met with a substantial (in my opinion) amount of rolled metal material and metallic material in the oil. I took pictures and videos and decided to continue to change the oil every 2,000 miles to document changes. Currently the vehicles last oil change was at 25,000 miles and there is still a concerning amount of metallic material and occasionally rolled pieces of metal during oil changes.

When driving my car at any speed it will suddenly begin to get sluggish then it becomes unresponsive to me giving it gas and starts to decelerate. When this happens suddenly warning signs on the vehicle go off stating to check the hybrid system and stop the vehicle. When this happens the car then stops functioning. I never know when it is gonna happen. I have been in the middle of heavy traffic and at high speeds stuck in the middle of the road. I have brought it in now four times to different dealerships and contacted corporate and No one can find a problem. I have pictures of the warning signs going off, all I am being told is we don-€™t find anything wrong when they run their test or try to reproduce the issue, so they can-€™t help me. This is a very serious and dangerous situation to be driving a car that has and will stall at any given time.

The vehicle is currently at the dealership. I purchased the 2022 hyundai Tucson hybrid limited in April. Have gotten my oil changes done religiously at the dealership. Vehicle is at 22k miles. And had oil change 5 days prior to incident. I was on the way to work and vehicle started to struggle to accelerate, engine began malfunctioning. Vehicle dropped drastically from 80mph Dow to 25-30 mph in short period of time, would have been rear ended if not in right lane already. No warning or previous problems. No warning or check engine lights EVER came on before the vehicle would not drive at all. And was told by the vehicle to -€œcheck hybrid system stop safely-€. Called roadside and vehicle was towed to dealership. They diagnosed as -€œthe timing chain was -€˜missing-€™ one of the cylinders, causing a loss of power from the gasoline engine and the hybrid system attempted to compensate for lost power, resulting in engine failure-€ later that day when I arrived from work to get a loaner I was told that it was a broken camshaft and warranty would pay for a new engine.-€

My car has 7000 miles on it. Three times now when trying to accelerate the RPM went up to 3000 RPM and the engine acted as if it was hitting a Rev limiter. The car slowed down to approximately 10 mph. One was pulling out of my driveway interning a intersection and the others was when I was merging onto a major highway. All three times I was barely able to make it to the side of the road. I shut the car off and restarted it and everything was OK. The incidents happened a couple weeks apart.

Three incidents of shifting from park to drive or reverse and car does not move in the drive or reverse. Turning PHEV car off seems to reset it. Third time car had a high pitch whine and trying to move in reverse caused a strong shudder and check engine light to come on. Diagnostic code for power train P072200. Turned car off and drove a few hours later and seemed to be back to normal. DTC cleared after a few days. Dealer unable to check for a month. Have dashcam footage of last incident.

On three separate occasions the vehicle refused to accelerate after being in a stop and go mode (I.e. traffic/drive thru). All three times an alert popped up on the dashboard stating: HEV Check Hybrid System Stop Safely. The second time this occurred a diagnostic code came up: DTCP112000. In all three occasions turning the car off and restarting resolved the issue at least temporarily. Also- the battery was completely depleted after each incident. Vehicle is at the dealership service center for the second time without and current diagnosis or solution.

Driving the car acceleration will go to zero. You can floor it and it will only go to 20mph. The car asked you to pull over safely. They hybrid battery is at zero and warning signs keep flashing. Has happened over three times on a new car. Dealership can-€™t figure it out. When I look up -€œHEV warning Tucson hybrid-€ there are many with same issue. Very, very dangerous issue.

While accelerating on an on ramp leading to the interstate, the 2022 Hyundai Tucson PHEV Limited was in the Smart Drive Mode and the vehicle was in Electric Mode only being powered by the electric motor. I noticed that the vehicle was struggling to accelerate to the interstate speed of 70 MPH, I pressed the accelerator further in order to gain more speed to safely merge onto the interstate. With the accelerator pushed all the way, the engine eventually turned on after 5-7 seconds assisting the vehicle to reach the speed of 70 MPH. Once on the interstate, I set the cruise control to 70 MPH but the vehicle was not able to maintain that speed. The speed of the Tucson started to drop suddenly and I then began to make my way to the right shoulder of the interstate. During the process of moving to the right shoulder, I did notice that the Power Gauge on the instrument cluster was maxed out, the vehicles engine was running at at very high revs, but I was never able to get more speed out of the vehicle. The vehicle was slowed to 40-45 MPH by the time I was able to reach the shoulder due to traffic. Once on the shoulder and out of the 3 lane, 70 MPH traffic, I was able to power down the vehicle and restart the vehicle with no issues. I then put the vehicle in drive and signaled to the left in order to merge back into traffic. I accelerated briskly to merge with the 70 MPH traffic and the vehicle did operate as normal. The vehicle began to move under EV power and the engine did turn on to begin assisting in moving the vehicle up to speed. The vehicle operated normally for the remainder of my drive, approximately 3-4 miles. During this event, the vehicle never did display any warning lights or messages on the instrument panel or the center screen. No warning tones or chimes were given either. The high voltage battery was at an approximately 68% state of charge and the fuel tank was approximately half full.

Initial incident happened in June 2022; car under 5k miles. When slowing down at a light, car suddenly started to shake and engine would shut off. Dashboard warning indicated place in neutral and start car again. After restart, car would still turn off, unable to move or shift gears without shutting down. After keeping engine off for a few minutes, car was driveable again but a sound coming from engine when in D while at a light. Brought to dealership in Woodbridge, VA but was told they were unable to replicate incident. 2nd incident occurred in October 29, 2022. At a light, car was going to auto shut off while at light but then lurched, shook violently and engine shut off. The dashboard said place in neutral and turn engine on. Was able to move car after a few attempts and move to safe area. Let car rest for a few hours. When driving, and slowing down at a light, car would shake; i would place in Neutral and car will settle. Any time at a light, it has to be in neutral or else engine will die. Brought to dealership, added 15miles but unable to replicate. Nov 3rd, car began to lurch when at speed of 40 - 45. after stopping at a light, car would not accelarate, engine revving but little movement. had to pull over and turn engine off. Nov 5th, while on highway vehicle began to lurch at 55-60mph, engine was at 4rpm, engine struggling but speed not increasing. since on a downhill, car was moving but engine revving; speed not accelerating. Had to merge to shoulder; shut car off 2x and restart before car drove without incident. Videos of dashboard were taken during incidents in October and November.

I was leaving a drive-through. Crossing traffic when my 2022 Tuscan N-Line just stopped accelerating the engine started to shake and SUV became unresponsive. As I was crossing traffic. I was almost hit. Moved the SUV to the middle of the street. Turned the SUV off. Restarted it. The SUV had no power and the check engine light came on. The engine started shaking violently. A bad burning smell ( like) burning rubber/ plastic started, then the engine started to smoke. I turned the SUV off again. After that the SUV wouldn-€™t start. Had it towed to the dealer. It only has 1130 miles on it. I just bought it July 20th.

purchased new 2022 hyundai tucson plug in hybrid in december 2021. In April 2022 the vehicle with 5500 miles experienced loud transmission bangs and lost ability to change gears. vehicle then stuck in neutral in driveway unable to select drive or reverse. had vehicle towed to dealership. once at dealer, mechanic unable to replicate problem but was able to pull up trouble code history. mechanic was told by hyundai corporate technicians to reset the transmission to fix problem. Fast forward to July 21, 2022, vehicle started to flash several warning indicators on dash including forward collision assist, no left turn signal and check engine light and transmission once again stuck in gear unable to select drive or reverse( approx. 9000miles) Upon disconnect of vehicle battery was able to get vehicle into gear to remove from garage. All warning lights remained on vehicle for 4 weeks before I was able to get a service appointment to fix problem. at dealer on august 16, 2022, check engine light reset prior to arrival, once again dealer unable to replicate problem and was told to return if vehicle exhibited issue again. August 22, 2022, upon leaving driveway and while in drive the vehicle just stopped in middle of roadway. once again stuck in neutral and all warning lights once again lit up. vehicle pushed to side of road to get out of roadway. upon starting the vehicle several times and turning off vehicle, finally was able to switch into gear. Roadside assistance was called to tow vehicle to dealership, where once again no loaner cars were available. The vehicle has exhibited lack of power on several occasions as well. specifically when going up a graded road. on one occasion vehicle would not go over 10mph. The fact that the vehicle died in the middle of the road while under operation is a huge safety concern as if i were on a freeway or expressway and it just stopped it could have been catastrophic. please look into this issue before someone gets seriously hurt.
