2022 to hyundai tuscon now with the third cylinder misfire due to faulty fuel injector. This can be inspected upon request. Upon second occurrence, requested all cylinders be replaced and advised could not do this under warranty. Second filing to NHTSA. This incident put myself and other drivers at risk. I was driving on a highway and the cylinder misfire occurred resulting in check engine light and vehicle going into limp mode and inability to drive more than 30-40 mph. The entire vehicle violently shakes and loses power with this misfire. In the previous occurrences, could not accelerate beyond 20 mph. I could have been rear ended or caused a serious accident on the highway as a result of Hyundai faulty fuel injectors and cylinder misfires. My vehicle has now been seen 3x for the same issue and replaced by dealer. There were no warning signs prior to the failure of the fuel injector resulting in cylinder misfire and loss of power and inability to accelerate. This is a very dangerous faulty component of this year make and model- it is a known issue. Still no recall. I have a "new" car that puts me in danger every 4-6 months when I lose power in my vehicle with no warning or cause except from faulty parts. This faulty part is going to cause serious injuries/accidents if it is not addressed.

1. What component or system failed or malfunctioned, and is it available for inspection upon request" The hybrid powertrain system, transmission, or engine appears to be malfunctioning. The vehicle hesitates or stalls when pressing the gas, losing power as if it doesn-??t recognize when to transition between EV and gas mode. Yes, the vehicle is available for inspection upon request. 2. How was your safety or the safety of others put at risk? The issue caused the vehicle to lose power unexpectedly, particularly while driving at highway speeds, which forced me to pull over multiple times for safety reasons. This happened on [XXX] before the [XXX] Tunnel, creating a hazardous situation in heavy traffic. If the vehicle stalled at the wrong moment-?"such as in an intersection or while merging-?"it could significantly increase the risk of a crash. 3. Has the problem been reproduced or confirmed by a dealer or independent service center" No. I have taken the vehicle to a Hyundai dealership, but no official errors or diagnostic trouble codes (DTCs) have been detected. The dealership has not confirmed the issue unless I agree to high-cost diagnostics that may not guarantee a resolution. 4. Has the vehicle or component been inspected by the manufacturer, police, insurance representatives, or others? The vehicle has been looked at by a Hyundai dealership, but no official findings or resolutions have been provided. The issue persists, and no recall or technical service bulletin (TSB) has been mentioned to me as a possible cause. 5. Were there any warning lamps, messages, or other symptoms of the problem prior to the failure, and when did they first appear? No warning lights, error messages, or dashboard alerts appeared before or during the power loss. The issue first started occurring at approximately 35,000-?"40,000 miles and has continued to around 50,000 miles. The first time I noticed the problem was during a long-distance drive from Los Angeles to CO INFORMATION REDACTED PURSUANT TO THE FREEDOM OF INFORMATION ACT (FOIA), 5

Within the first year of purchase, my power train system has beeb throwing codes. I took it to the dealership where they assured me nothing was wrong. My fuel injectors then gave out. The dealership replaced them and told me -??yes these things are faulty and we see it a lot-??. After replacing it, they did not seal the fuel injectors, causing gas to gush out and set my car to smoke. I was ill from inhaling gas fumes for days. They took accountability and said that the injectors were defective in the vehicles and that they would once again fix it. I am not experiencing further engine issues which they do not know how to diagnose. My car is a 2022 purchase from the lot. The engine is defective and Hyundai is negligent. They admitted they were aware of the injector issue but didn-??t do much to correct this. After corrected, they almost had my car set on fire from fuel pouring on the engine.

At the end of May 2024 my car was diagnosed with a faulty fuel injector that caused sputtering and problems accelerating. I was driving on a busy freeway when my car began to shake and sputter and lose power. A check engine light came on when the car first started to shake and sputter. I was able to pull off the freeway but, in an area, where I was unfamiliar. I was able contact family nearby who assisted me in driving the car slowly to a Hyundai dealership about 15 miles away. This happened on a holiday weekend and I had to get a rental car as the dealership was unable to service the car for several days. The dealership diagnosed the car as having a faulty fuel injector and a new fuel injector was installed. On December 5, my car again started sputtering and shaking and had problems accelerating. It needed to be towed to a Hyundai dealership about 50 miles away from my home. I am currently waiting for them to diagnose the problem.

Vehicle has experienced, unexpected, slight and brief, acceleration 3 times at highway speeds up to 60 mph. The 4th incident was an uncontrolled acceleration when parking behind another parked vehicle. Car accelerated into the backend of parked vehicle. Operator was at a complete stop and needed to pull forward a few feet. They took foot off of brake and lightly pressed the gas peddle. The car unexpectedly surged forward hitting parked car. 1 day later we received an email from Hyundai Blue Link stating that "a possible condition with your Engine Control System has been detected" and recommends bringing in for service for a full system check. Both cars were damaged and Tuscon had to be towed to a repair shop.

While driving the car the engine died, locking up both the gas and brake pedals. The car had to come to a stop on its own, my wife could not depress the gas or brake to stop the car. She was going through an intersection and narrowly avoided a major accident! The battery light came on, the check engine light and the car started to fill up with a smell of burning plastic and gas. When trying to turn the car back on after turning it off it would start with a major shake and bang then turn back off. All warning lights stayed on. Battery was fully charged still. Autobody shop found engine issues in their pre scan before sending it to Hyundai to warranty it as it only has 6,626 miles and is 2 years old. There was a warning of low battery while we were on vacation and the car was sitting for a few days. And a sluggish start when it sat for few days like the battery was low, but it wasn-??t based on the volt meter.

I purchased a Hyundai tucson 2022 in November 2022 and Ive been having great issues with the vehicle since. Ive had to bring the car in over 3 times in less than 2 years for powertrain issues. The first was in Oct 2023, then Nov 2023, followed by Jun 2024. Today is engine light is back on and the diagnostic code is saying Powertrain. The car misfires and there is little or no acceleration. This happened on the highway more than once and i was terrified. Also the car does this jerky shaking thing. When i spoke to the dealer about it they made it seem like an uncommon issue but after doing my research, there are lot of complaints about similar situations.

Car lost power as I was entering fast traffic area. Acceleration became unresponsive and vehicle came to halt. Would not move there after. Had it occurred a few seconds later I would-??ve found myself unable to accelerate in an acceleration lane, or shortly after merging potentially causing injury to myself and others. After getting the issue diagnosed by Hyundai it is apparently a faulty fuel injectors. Researching online, this appears to be a known problem for the 2022 Hyundai Tucson with many claiming they were left stranded on highways, at intersections and during snow fall. In general this issue makes owners fearful to drive their cars. Apparently, this may be caused by a bad batch of injectors but to my knowledge Hyundai only replaces known bad injectors instead of replacing all injectors from the faulty batch. Due to this many experience multiple failures in short periods in short periods of time, increasing risk of safety incidents. My vehicle-??s failed at approximately 22k miles but others have reported failures much sooner.

The hybrid system flashes "Check Hybrid System" then the check engine and check HEV lights are illuminated. The vehicle loses power and even with the gas pedal pushed firmly to the floor the engine isn't producing power. This is a safety issue because I've lost power while driving on busy roads and can't clear the intersection, etc. This was reproduced at the dealership and Hyundai is performing a warranty replacement of the "hybrid system". I wanted to make NHTSA aware of the issue because on the Hyundai forums I'm seeing similar reports made. There is an open campaign to update the software for the hybrid system, 9B4, but this software update did not fix the issue.

We fist noticed a problem with the car having a hard time accelerating and a hard shift at 25-35 mph back at the end of November. We then got a check engine light that came on that said P013A00 Powertrain. We brought it to the dealership the first week of December and were told that the transmission just needed an update. Upon taking the car home it was better for about a week then the issue came back sporadically. Then on March 20th my wife was driving the car and it would not accelerate past 35 mph while getting onto the interstate. Cars were going by her at 70+MPH as she sat there helplessly pressing the accelerator. Eventually she got the car up to 50 mph but it would not go any faster. We brought it into the dealership that day and once again they said the transmission needed an update. I then contacted Hyundai corporate and submitted a complaint and they started a case for the issue. After the second time at the dealership the car was ok for a week and then started with the same issues. After taking it to several other dealerships they all tell me that it-??s a transmission issue that they don-??t know how to fix but they change what they say once Hyundai corporate talks with them. Presently the car will have very high RPM and jump forward almost colliding with cars in front. It will also not accelerate such as the peddle is on the floor and the RPMs are high but the car will barely move until it shifts gears and jumps forward.

While driving, my vehicle suddenly lost all power and didn't respond to the accelerator. The "check engine" and "hybrid system failure" lights came on, jeopardizing my safety and that of other road users. The car overheats significantly, to the extent that the air conditioning only blows hot air. This situation forced me to pull over on the highway shoulder, creating an additional risk for everyone involved in traffic.

Transmission wouldn-??t shift. Tried to accelerate from stopping at a stop sign and car wouldnt get up to speeds. Car shuttered when it tried to. The auto shut off light turned orange. No codes or check engine light came on. Shut car off and turned on and problem went away. Nobody has inspected it as it has not reproduced the problem. Several online forums state that I am not the only one to have this issue. Luckily this didnt happen on the highway otherwise that would have been very dangerous trying to merge on a highway.

The contact owns a 2022 Hyundai Tucson. The contact stated while attempting to drive through a yellow light, the vehicle failed to accelerate upon the depression of the accelerator pedal without warning. The same failure occurred soon after while on a highway ramp. The contact attempted to merge onto the highway, but the vehicle failed to accelerate with the accelerator pedal depressed to the floorboard. The contact pulled off to the shoulder of the highway and restarted the vehicle; the vehicle resumed normal operation after the engine restart. The dealer was notified of the failure and an appointment was made to have the vehicle serviced. The manufacturer was also notified of the failure. The vehicle was not repaired. The failure mileage was 32,340.

First incident: While driving on the highway, my vehicle began to vibrate intensely, jerking, lost acceleration and ultimately was unable to drive. Smelled burning. No warning lights came on- no indication of a problem. I only had time to exit on ramp and car stopped in the middle of traffic. Car had to be towed to dealer. Second incident: I was driving and the vehicle began jerking and vibrating with no acceleration. Smelled burning again. Only after this happened did the engine light appear. I was able to get over to the side of the road. Luckily I wasn-??t far from home. Car had to be towed to dealer again Very unsafe and no recall from Hyundai.

New 2022 tucson limited power train stalled, would not accelerate randomly while on the highway in NJ on [XXX]. Had to get to side of the road and put hazards on as was unable to accelerate past 40mph in a 65mph zone. Once turning off the car, the electrical systems reset. It was crazy i only had the car for 200miles. Thank God it was a leased car. Flash forward it occurred twice before hitting 1k miles. Took it to get serviced and service department had no idea and said nothing was found to be the cause after the second time it stalled. Other incident was around 20k miles gas lock latch broke somehow and couldn't open gas tank to put gas in car. Went to 3 dealerships, 2 couldn't see me without an appointment. Had to get it snapped off then come back to get car serviced which took 2 additional hrs. Unreliable. INFORMATION REDACTED PURSUANT TO THE FREEDOM OF INFORMATION ACT (FOIA), 5 U.S.C. 552(B)(6)

This is the third time I had issues with my 2022 Hyundai Tucson losing power, being unable to accelerate, and/or completely losing power and stopping. I already created an NHSTA report/complaint when the first incident occurred 11 months ago (NHTSA ID Number: 11507213). Since then, the issue occurred twice (has 33,000 miles & always maintained). I am a professional female in [XXX]. The 2nd time was at night [XXX]; I was on my way to a program for work, car decelerated. I could navigate, with great distress and frustration to a side street where the car shut off completely. I contacted my husband, my supervisor (who delayed the program start for a few minutes, then began without me), Hyundai Blue Link and AAA. My supervisor sent someone to pick me up so I could be present at the program and make my presentation. A colleague returned me to my failed vehicle. I called AAA for an update on the tow, which I was told would not be for another several hours after midnight. My colleague drove me home (16.5 miles one way: my husband was even further away) as I would have again been alone in my vehicle at night (without heat). This third time (Jan 2024), I used the climate start for at least 12 minutes before driving. The car never gained acceleration above 19 mph, occurring immediately. I thought it was just a cold engine that would dissipate as I drove, but it didn't. Since I could not get the engine to accelerate, I could not get heat. It was as though the engine was draining all the functions of the vehicle. There were no cars in front of me, but several drivers behind me were very angry; amazingly, no accident occurred. Finally drove to dealer, called Uber, and was late to work again! Purchased my Tucson after engine issues with my Hyundai Sante Fe. Both purchased new with many extended warranties, assuming I'd have a safe and reliable vehicle. Car still at dealer (10 days).
