Driving interstate right lane cruise control set at 73 mph. Car in front of me proceeded to leave lane to the left in order to pass 18 wheeler in front of it. Noticed my car felt different at that time and looked at dashboard to see cruise control now set to 110 mph and speed almost 90 mph. Documented with photo. Disabled cruise with breaking. Shared this on Tucson forums Reddit and Hyundai Forums with confirmation that this has and is happening.

On 9/3/23, driver was waiting at a stop sign to turn left. When driver accelerated into the highway, there was no power and the vehicle would only go 5-10 mph. Warning lights came on to check the hybrid system with the HEV indicator light. Driver pulled over. Restarted car and engine was stuttering. Was able to drive a few miles to a safer location. Started car on 9/4/23, again it had a rough start. Driver waited until the vehicle sounded normal. The vehicle immediately lost power and could not accelerate when on the main road. Called Hyundai and they were unconcerned. We are in remote Alaska, 250 miles from a dealership. Because it happened on a holiday weekend, we have been unable to contact the service department yet. Vehicle is available to be inspected. Safety is a huge risk because the car suddenly stops propelling forward. I'm afraid we will get rear-ended because of the sudden loss of power. It is a danger to ourselves and others. I'm also concerned that we will be stranded because the car has to be stopped when this occurs. We were supposed to be enjoying a trip for a week, and now we don't trust the vehicle and will likely need to go home early and lose hotel costs. This issue will wind up killing someone because there are reports that these Hyundais are stopping in the middle of the highway. Please hold Hyundai accountable.

The car shook and then lights and alarms went off indicating something went wrong with the hybrid system. The car stopped accelerating, would shake, and then accelerated no more than 10 mph. It was absolutely crazy! Luckily, the highway that I was traveling on was not a busy one at the time because all I thought was this could have been a major accident if on a fast moving freeway. I managed to pull over and started reading online about this issue occurring with other customers who purchased the same or similar vehicle. So, I found a post and had shut the car off for 5 minutes, then restart and sit for 10 minutes, and then the car should work. It did! However, during the time of waiting I did reach out to the dealership and they said if the car is working there is nothing they could do. So, I assumed it was safe to use travel to work for a meeting and set up my classroom for the start of the new school year. On my way home from school, the issue happened again. I immediately contacted the dealership and was able to get the car to them. They started running diagnostic tests and currently have the vehicle on hand. However, I don't really feel safe now with this car given the circumstances. What if this should happen again? What if this happens to me or someone else who is traveling on a busy highway and it causes injury or even death to an accident. The engine light came on, battery light flickered on and off, the car shook, the car's HEV system warning was going off, etc. Please help and look into this matter. I do not have any documentation of repair as the car currently sits at the dealership, but I was so upset thinking about what could have happened and felt the need to report the issue.

I have a 2022 Hyundai Tucson with about 15k miles on it. I have had it serviced twice for oil changes and the recommended manufacture recommended maintenance. However, I have noticed a SIGNIFICANT loss in power upon acceleration with this vehicle. My new car drives very rough and this is a safety issue due to the fact when entering the interstate, the car will not increase speed as requested putting myself and others on the road in danger. Additionally, simple maneuvers like turning into cross traffic are of concern because the vehicle doesn't respond to acceleration when accelerating from 0mph as well as in stop and go traffic. There are no engine lights or codes that I can visibly notice but even in sport mode the acceleration of the vehicle is not responsive. This is a KNOWN issue at Hyundai as one local dealership offered me a service visit 6 months out because they are so overbooked with these issues. A quick Google search also brought up numerous owners experiencing similar and and escalated issues to include complete engine failure and vehicle overheating. This vehicle needs to be recalled immediately! I experience this loss of power EVERY SINGLE TIME I DRIVE and I don't feel safe driving my new car anymore. I have mentioned this to my dealership and they are going to take a look at it today. Occasionally, the car will also indicate to me that I should keep my hands on the steering wheel when I typically drive with BOTH hands on the steering wheel.

All electrical systems proceeded to malfunction with the check engine and driver safety system warnings blaring. Vehicle proceeded to accelerate from 10-40 mph on its own for approximately 400 meters on the freeway. Vehicle brake and acceleration system did not respond to any driver input for approximately the entire length. Vehicle then proceeded to respond normally temporarily allowing us to pull over to a nearby parking lot and engage the emergency parking brake and out the gear into park. Transmission gear indicator then proceeded to switch randomly from Drive to neutral to park and repeating with infotainment system glitching. After engine was shut off and given time it was restarted and vehicle operated normally. Vehicle is currently under diagnosis with service center (Huffines Hyundai McKinney).

The vehicle has had 2 instances of accelerating extremely fast unexpectedly. Once when I was backing up and lightly pressed the accelerator the car shot backwards in a fast speed. The second time I was parking and lightly pressed the accelerator as I was pulling into the parking spot the car sped super fast crashing my car into the pole and damaging my front car bumper.

On at least six occasions since I took possession of this Hyundai vehicle the vehicle has been automatically slowed down accompanied by a "25 mph speed limit" sensor light coming on - and most of these instances could be dangerous because they were not in low-speed zones. This has happened in low-speed zones or near those, in particular on/near a college campus that I drive through or near, but several times this happened when I was in a 35, 45, or 55 mph zone. In fact, yesterday around 6 p.m., after starting the car a minute earlier I pulled out of a driveway onto a rural highway (55 mph) and the car slowed immediately and that warning came on and it did not go off until I shut the car off about 5 minutes later. This was nowhere near a low-speed zone, it was several miles from one. When this has happened in higher speed zones the only thing that makes sense sometimes is to try and "override" the setting by putting the accelerator to the floor, but that isn't ideal as I have discovered, because while it will eventually override the sensor it also causes the car to rocket once it does. Besides that, the car can be shut down and that seems to reset the sensor as well, but sometimes you can't just pull over and restart.

The contact owns a 2022 Hyundai Tucson. The contact stated while driving approximately 50 MPH, the vehicle was intermittently decelerating and was unable to accelerate to exceed 42 MPH, despite depressing the accelerator pedal. No warning lights were illuminated. The contact made a local dealer aware of the failure; however, the vehicle was not diagnosed or repaired. The manufacturer was made aware of the failure. The approximate failure mileage was 4,000.

12/02/2022 while parking the vehicle in a parking spot in a parking garage, vehicle suddenly lurched forward causing the vehicle to hit the parking garage cement wall. This caused him to hit his head very hard on the steering wheel. The air bag deployed after he hit his head. The Air Bag did not protect him. He did not hit the accelerator pedal, and the vehicle accelerated by itself, which caused it to hit the parking garage wall. Shortly after this occurrence; he was at the Post Office, to drop mail in the mail box, and he very slightly removed his foot from the brake pedal to move the vehicle up a foot or two, and the vehicle lurched ahead approximately four to six feet. Again, he did not hit the accelerator pedal. Luckily, there was no other car in front of him or the vehicle might have hit it. Prior to the self acceleration of the vehicle in the parking garage and at the Post Office, this issue occurred while he was driving on the highway. He was going 55 mph and the vehicle suddenly went 75 mph. He was at a place where there is an exit, and he would not go that fast at this particular area. He explains he did not accelerate the car himself. He was so concerned about the vehicle self accelerating that he immediately got off of the highway to look under the hood to see if there was some explanation for this. We addressed this issues with the Hyundai dealer. On 01/06/2023, according to the report from them they drove the vehicle around their building and then looked for engine or transmission, and they said there were none.

Purchased this vehicle 12/2021 it hesitated on pick up but drove good after that nice look but the headlights are bad at night. First month I had a bad scare as when attempting to stop the brakes gave out, I had to pump multiple times to get the car to stop, this happened again about 1 month ago. On 10/10/22 while attempting to park in my driveway which is on a hill the car did not want to accelerate when pressing the gas and many lights turned on the dashboard. Warning, check engine, brake, front collision, etc. I have not had any accidents for the collision light to be on anyways. I turned the car off and restarted it I even disconnected the battery but still nothing the car has power because it does turn on and the lights, radio work but it just would not accelerate. I'm on a very dangerous hill lucky this happened late night when not much vehicle traffic. The next morning 10/11/22 around 10 am Hyundai came to pick up the vehicle. I passed by that day around 4 pm to see what was going on. They had not checked it yet which is understandable we ask the guy when he thought it would be checked out and he responded that towed vehicles take longer to be checked, we asked for a loner and they said they did not have. Saturday 10/15/22 went again, the car was still in the same spot not looked at yet, today 10/19/22- 1 week and 1 day they have not checked the car and we were told they had a lot of cars to work on and we were far down on that list. So basically they will probably take 2-3 weeks to even look at it and if any parts are needed it would probably take another month and without a loner. So we the paying clients have to figure it out. This is very unacceptable not to mention how scary it was for the car to completely give out on a hill thank god no one was driving or walking behind me. I have been driving for 29 yrs and have never experienced something like this. This car can potentially be deadly specially to a new driver.

I was leaving a drive-through. Crossing traffic when my 2022 Tuscan N-Line just stopped accelerating the engine started to shake and SUV became unresponsive. As I was crossing traffic. I was almost hit. Moved the SUV to the middle of the street. Turned the SUV off. Restarted it. The SUV had no power and the check engine light came on. The engine started shaking violently. A bad burning smell ( like) burning rubber/ plastic started, then the engine started to smoke. I turned the SUV off again. After that the SUV wouldn-€™t start. Had it towed to the dealer. It only has 1130 miles on it. I just bought it July 20th.
