Second time the center of the speaker fell off in door. Music sounds like sh*t and it rattles in the speaker casing. I had to pay for supposedly new speakers, but the stock speakers are junk.

Veloster Turbo

  • Manual transmission
  • 20,000 miles

Dimension speakers really suck, was never told about a TSB on them. Hyundai dealer replaced them under warranty.....That's when the trouble really started.... now I have vibrations in the door panel that HEALY HYUNDAI claims is because of the style of music I play...they will not even remove the door panels to check if something broke...sound system sucks...HEALY HYUNDAI is even worse....other than that the car is awesome.........BUT.......I will never buy another Hyundai because of the way they treat you.

I purchased this car used in Sept 2014 with around 6500 miles on it. This wasn't happening when I got it, but the speakers sound like crap. They are falling apart.

I went to the place I purchased my car and was told this was a recall, and they needed to fix the speakers (tape them back together or something). The first time I was there, they guy that does this stuff wasn't there, so I made another appointment (this is an hour drive each way for me). I went in again, they had me sit there for 45 min before they told me he wasn't there again that day, made another appointment.

Called ahead and made sure he was there before I left, but when he took the panels off, the speakers were so far gone, they couldn't be fixed, so he needed to order new speakers, made another appointment. Called to verify they received in the speakers and the guy was there, went there, sat for an hour, they had the wrong parts, made another appointment. This is 4 appointments in as many weeks because I have a job and this is the only time I can drive that far and make it while they're still open. Something happened at work where I couldn't keep the 5th appointment because work happened and apparently I'm unreasonable that I don't want to wait another month for them to get me back in.

Take it to another Hyundai store (this one is 2 hours away but has some Saturday hours). They won't touch it. They say that because the rattling/vibrating noise that is giving me migraines is an 'adjustment' and because the car is a 2013, that it is no longer covered and will cost $300 for them to even look at. They didn't take the panels off and see that they were bad enough they other service guy said there was no hopes of repair. I have the 5 year warranty and was very tempted to get the extended warranty that extends it another 5 years but that isn't happening now. I'd trade it in but it's hard to find manual transmissions.
