Veloster RE:MIX

  • Manual transmission
  • 110,000 miles

Was burning oil like crazy. I went to the dealer, who started an oil consumption test to see how much I was actually losing. I was told to come back in 1k miles to check and see how much I had lost. Low oil light came on after 800 miles. I had lost two quarts of oil that quickly. Engine was broken down to find severe carbon build up, and bad piston rings. They replaced my short block. Luckily everything was covered by my warranty with Omega Auto Care.

Veloster 1.8L

  • Manual transmission
  • 81,000 miles

My car shouldn't be parked in order to drive. I've maintained the oil changes and all services needed, and yet I'm still stuck having to pay for rides to work...

Veloster 1.6L 4-cyl

  • Automatic transmission
  • 140,000 miles

Started using excessive oil about 130,000 miles (due to bad rings). Currently at 160,000 and uses at least 1 quart every 1000 miles. Now it has poisoned the catalytic converter because of oil load. Dealer said this condition is not unusual for this POS motor with 160,000 miles. Aftermarket replacement engines no longer available due to supply chain issues.
