Had an extended warranty they won't fix it. Subsequent owner so Hyundai won't fix it and it's happening in a ton of other Hyundais. Never buy one.

I first encountered the issue of my car losing power within days of purchasing it. I reported to my dealership and have been told time and again that there is no report from Hyundai regarding it and that there is nothing they can do unless the car is experiencing the issue while they have it; the problem is that this occurs at random and has happened as much as 2 times a week and as little as once in 3 months. The car will suddenly lose power anywhere and everywhere- including the highway! Regardless of how fast or slow I am going it will drop in power and the engine will sound as if it's working really hard. I can push the pedal to the medal and the car will continue losing power. This lasts for approximately 10 seconds and then will go back to normal. Hyundai has been completely unhelpful and they do not seem to take the danger of this defect seriously. I have googled and found many many of the same complaints regarding this car and that the solve has yet to be figured out, infact, Hyundai is not communicating the issue to it's customers either.

So this Hyundai Veloster had/has the 198 recall put out for Hyundai Motor Company which is connecting rod bearings failing prematurely due to debris left over from the manufacturing process. I took it to Hyundai before the remedy was out and they diagnosed the vehicle as having a bad catalyst converter over the phone but my paper work blamed it on low oil. They stated that they put oil in it, and there was no longer a misfire - which was a blatant lie.
So I took it to the shop to get the catalytic convertor replaced - needless to say it didn't fix the problem not solved. The remedy for the recall came out so I took it back to Hyundai and they told me there was nothing wrong with the motor in my car. To which I stated, well, how did y'all inspect the bearings so quickly? I literally dropped it off and 15 minutes later they called stating the above fact. I also replied with I'm not happy with the results of this so called inspection I would like it to be done somewhere else and they couldn't do that for me. So I told them I'm not coming to get the car until I make some phone calls.
I called Hyundai's customer service and told them I'm not happy and got it escalated to the national chain of customer service which was an even bigger joke. They said to wait 2 weeks for an agent to be assigned to my case. After 2 weeks no one has called, so I call in and they say oh, we're sorry we didn't call, we're looking into it and now we'll call you back. Another 10 days go by and no call. I call back and I'm told this time I don't even have anyone assigned to my case. I finally get a call back 15 days after that telling me there is nothing that they can do or myself. I state once again how unhappy I am and that I do not want to close my case. The lady tells me that's she is going to close the case no matter what I am or do and hangs up.
This whole time I'm getting calls from the dealership that I need to come pick up my car and saying I'll be charged storage fees which was $75/day after this date. So by the time I get done with customer service the dealership says my storage bill was almost $900. I told them that they could keep it because the car barely even runs and that I would not be coming to get it. Because I knew as soon as I did it would close the recall and my car would still be messed up. But later that same day I got a call stating if I came and picked it up today that they would drop all the storage charges and like an idiot that I am I went and picked it up sealing my fate.
In the end I bought a car that I've owned for almost two years and have been able to put maybe 300 miles on it. It's just a yard ornament now basically. I feel like I was cheated and lied to by Hyundai and will never spend another dime with or on any Hyundai or Kia. I would avoid them with all cost if you've been thinking about buying one.
