Veracruz GLS 3.8L V6 Fwd

  • Automatic transmission
  • 68,351 miles

ABS Pump/Module OEM Part 58910-3J850 is $2300 from Hyundai but can be had for much less ($1500) if you look around online from OEM Part Suppliers and was available for $200 from Salvage Recycled part suppliers. Labour should be around $150 for this to be replaced. This appears to be a common issue online with the Veracruz for both AWD and FWD models.

Veracruz V6

  • Automatic transmission

Recall for oil leak with alternator also replaced (second trip to dealer due to no parts on hand). Advised dealer of multiple dash warning lights On /Off intermittently but off at new start of engine. Dealer felt they could be connected to Recall with no active error code in reading when code read and no dash lights on. Service Dept suggested we return when dash lights on (16+ mile trip).

No dash lights over 4 days of recent Thanksgiving Holiday travels --- then ABS and ESC light on longer than off and sometimes on at start of engine this weekend. Able to get Veracruz back to dealership today (12-01-2014) when dash lights on. Codes P1753, C1209/1211/1210 (various wheel speed sensor....) and C1604 ECU (brake system) hardware error. Told part # 58910-3J950 related to ESC system must be replaced -- $2600.00 cost.

When pressed for 'who to call' - service provided H service # Any advice on how to approach? Is part / ESC related to any other H vehicles?

Update from Dec 23, 2014: @ 2 Dec called H service # - very nice person & needed to at least reqister issue with company...but all they do is record the complaint and open a case file and don't provide thier people to accept data for purposes of analysis -- ex all narrative input with no way to enter part #'s or part names for a data sort. They also had no easy info on potential relationship of one models problem to another model - ex is Genisus brake components same or "sister' parts to Vericruze? Seperately got a second opinion over Pohanka (Fredericksburg VA) dealerships diagnosis which we determined to be wrong. I 'interviewed' two other dealership service departments and went with Brown's of Manassas VA. Service Rep was great -- ensured a thorough check and diagnosis. BLUF -- problem was both rear wheel (L/R) speed sensor indicators were replaced (@ $ 900+). No more Issues with ABS / ESC dash lights.
Also discovered the R/CV boot leaking oil -- so had Front end steering replaced also ($1200).
I'm sure the 1st dealership would have had to replace both the rear wheel (L/R) speed sensor indicators and front end along with their mis-diagnosed $2600 Hydrolic Module.
