We received a recall notice during the pandemic for an issue that previously was a recall. It was repaired but was not a permanent fix. There was oil leaking on the alternator but we were told that they couldn't make the repair for three months due to being so backed up. We understood and put off the repair until they were more caught up. We took our Veracruz in for the repair, which was supposed to be at no cost to us, only to have the dealership want over $2000 to repair it or they said they couldn't guarantee that oil wouldn't continue to drip onto the alternator. We declined the extra cost because the recall was to replace the alternator and install an oil protector. They told us that our vehicle would be ready at a certain time and it wasn't. When we finally got it back they left out parts and didn't let us know they had them but easily located them when we went back to get them. The next morning after we picked up our vehicle it was dead and there was oil all over the inside under the hood. We are not sure that the alternator was changed and no oil protector was installed. We tried contacting Hyundai Customer Care but after a week of phone tag they told us we would need to contact the dealership that we originally went to and so far they have not responded. At this point we are just frustrated and are ready to get rid of the vehicle because even when we were able to get it to drive it kept shutting off while going down the road making it very unsafe. We are contacting you because we don't know what else to do and if we do find someone to take it, we don't want to put someone else in a dangerous position thinking it is fixed when it is not.

Hunter Hyundai scheduled intake of my car for recall purposes on December 23, 2021. A little over a month later, they returned the car to me saying the alternator was coming from Korea and they did not know when it would arrive. My car cannot be driven and has sat in my driveway all this time. They still don't know when the part should arrive. I feel the dealer has failed to remedy the defect within a reasonable time.

Unknown. While driving on the expressway at 75 miles an hour my ESC off light appeared check engine light appeared TPMS light appeared brake light appeared and the speedometer dropped from 75 mile an hour down to zero. Reported the problem on or tried to report the problem on January 2 to Superior Hyundai South Cincinnati received no answer back from service department finally went down three days later was told to leave the car and they would look at it. Ghecked on google about symptoms and noticed there were many complaints about same problem. Repairs anywhere from$2500 to the estimate I received for $4700was told it was anti lock brake pump system. Feel like there should be a recall with so many complaints about this problem.

Recall 121 completed by southshore Hyundai on 1/15/19. On nov10, 2020, I was driving all my lights went on steering wheel got stiff and just shut down. I called geico had my car towed to my mechanic. He called me to tell me that the alternator was soaked with oil. He replaced the alternator and advised me to contact Hyundai because the oil was from gasket in which they replaced on 1/15/2019. I called Hyundai motor finance company and advised them of the problem. At that point I requested they reimburse me for the alternator in which they denied. They made an appointment for 11/19/2020 for me to bring the car to South Hyundai. I bought my car in. I didn't hear from them so I went to the dealer in which I approached the advisor isiah. He told me at that point the gasket wasn't the issue. They contacted corporate and told them that too. I received a call from corporate denying my claim from my mechanic. I then said to isiah have my car ready I am taking it out of your lot. He said wait in lobby, give me a few. He came to me within 5 min to tell me that there was recall showing for my car recall 197. He said leave the car and I will keep you posted. We texted back and for the finally after South shore Hyundai having mycar in there lot for 2 mos, no loaner they decided to have my car ready on 1/13/2021. Documents states tech removed and replaced valve cover gasket and alternator in good will. I started noticing oil spots on my driveway. I took my car to my mechanic today 3/19/2021 for an oil change. He stated that yes I do have a leak. He questioned what did Hyundai replaced and I told him.. he said absolutely not, the alternator on your car is the one I put in on 11/10/2021. No valve cover gasket was replaced all Hyundai did was put silicone. I have all documents, pictures, receipts and text for my proof of this problem. I fear my safety in car.

Every time someone drives through a tiny bit of water on any road, at any speed, the power steering cuts out for like 30 seconds. Loose all ability to safely maneuver off the road. We have to avoid driving this vehicle on rainy days because we never know if we are going to lose steering. It seems like possibly the belt gets wet and slips or possibly something electrical. When this happens all of the dummy lights on the dash start flickering as well. It happens only when the vehicle is in motion on wet road conditions, it happens at highway speed or city speeds as well. This has happened 4 times in the last 2 months.

While driving on the highway my vehicle started accelerating on its own and kept climbing to higher speeds reaching 100mph and greater, even while pressing the breaks the vehicle still accelerated on its own. Finally after reaching a safe area to do so I had to switch the vehicle to neutral, once slow enough I then placed the vehicle into park and shut it off immediately as it was still revving and the engine began to smoke a little. From there I had my vehicle towed to lithia Hyundai, I was too scared to turn it back on. Thank goodness my children were not in the car and thank goodness I did not have to cross any intersections.
