oil leaks from the engine onto the alternators and belts
Took the truck in when I first noticed the problem, this was about 1 week after taking the truck for service (balancing and alignment and replacement of a coupling on drive shaft) and asking the hyundai mechanic to please check the entire truck. Was told that everything is fantastic.
Had to take truck in today for (September 9th) for 70,000KM service and had to show a list of problems to service advisor, upon showing him the oil on the alternator and belt was told that the leaking gasket was not covered under warranty (even though Hyundai advertises a 100,000KM/5yr bumper to bumper warranty). Was told that this is normal since the car has 70,000KM (43,750mls) for the gaskets to leak (what the hell) and I have to pay for repairs.
This truck is the 12th car I have owned over the years and have NEVER heard such rubbish in my life, head gaskets leaking at 44,000miles, ABSOLUTE RUBBISH. I have owned Nissan, Toyota, and Acura. Drive most cars up to 70 or 80,000miles and NEVER have that kind of problem.
Hyundai needs to rethink the parts they are putting in their cars/trucks, once bitten twice shy. I will definitely think twice before buying a hyundai again, no matter how 'reasonable' the price seems.
Thanks for 'listening'.

I took my 2010 Hyundai Veracruz into the dealer to have a recall fixed 2 years ago for a replacement of the front valve gasket cover and the alternator recall 121. On Friday it happened again my alternator died and it's covered in oil. I called the dealer who did the work and the quoted me a bill of $1000.00. I believe that this was never completed correctly and should be covered under the recall.
Please help. I called the main head quarters and they want me to take it in to have it looked at, at my own cost. Really? Is there something I'm missing?
