This Verna 1.6EX Petrol (AT) 2013 model was purchased brand new (ordered in September 2013 & delivered in December 2013) from Popular Hyundai Dealer's showroom in Karamana, Trivandrum, Kerala state.
This car has been driven only for about 7,700 miles till date and that too single handed (by me alone) in the last two years or so.
The car was not in use for 3 months (from around 18th of March until 17th of June 2016), as I was out of country on an onsite assignment in Germany.
When I returned back I found that the steering wheel was almost stuck and stiff which was supposed to be really smooth, free and having power steering.
The dealer on raising a complaint over the phone, sent a technician who inspected the problem and took the car to the dealer's service station on 18th of June 2016.
After few days, the service technician called up and mentioned that the steering motor is faulty as the vehicle had not been in use for last 3 months on which I raised my concerns on the inferior quality of parts used rather than car not in use.
Also without my consent, the so called faulty MDPS steering motor was replaced by the service personnel and now they are informing me a cost of about Rs 7,000/= (including Part and labour), which is not acceptable.
I had raised a complaint by phone as well as vide mail with "Service Division" of HMIL but not to any real effect.
The car has been in the dealer's service station for over a month now and I am really frustrated with the day-to-day difficulties I am faced with having to manage things without a car especially with family.
