The contact owns a 2002 Hyundai XG350. The contact stated that the check engine light began to illuminate on the instrument panel while going through an automated car wash. The vehicle was taken to an authorized dealer where the contact was informed that the fuel tank canister needed to be replaced. The vehicle was repaired. The failure had since recurred twice. The vehicle was taken back to the dealer on each occasion where it was repaired. The manufacturer was made aware of the failure, but offered no assistance. The failure mileage was unknown. Updated 08/31/11 the dealer replaced several components to rectify the engine light problem, but to no avail. The consumer also stated the ABS, tcb and air bag lights illuminated. The engine light is still on. Updated 09/09/11

When attempting to fill fuel tank reading empty on gauge, tank keeps stopping like the tank is full of gasoline, Hyundai new port richey admits there is an issue with the charcol canister and that charcol floats up the fill vent breather hose causing this issue and suggests that the canister be replaced. This start happening at 50K miles.

Fuel filler not allowing fuel to enter fuel tank without clicking off, vent on gas tank to charcoal filter is not functioning correctly. Clicks off like tank is full when trying to fill gas into filler tube. Hyundai admits they are aware of this issue.
