The contact owns a 2003 Hyundai XG350. The contact observed when the vehicle was parked, the front driver and passenger seat belt malfunctioned. The mechanism in which the shoulder strap travels through cut the seat belt. The vehicle was taken to an authorized dealer. The failure was related to the seat belt mechanism. The vehicle has not been repaired at this time. The estimated repair cost for both seat belt mechanism replacements was $1,600. The failure mileage was 60,000.
