This problem may be covered under warranty. Ask your Infiniti dealer.
The airbag warning light triggered, so we brought it in to the Infiniti dealer. They told us that some sensor was bad and that it was not under warranty. I showed them the page in the warranty book stating that the restraint systems are covered for 7 years and 70,000 miles. They said the air bags are not part of the restraint system, even though it clearly states this in the owners manual. We weren't happy with their excuse, so we just left it. About 2 years ago, we received a letter from Infiniti asking us to bring our car in for a recall on the air bags. When we brought it in, the service writer told us that we shouldn't have been driving the car with the light on and when I told him we tried to get it fixed at 63K miles, he said it should've been fixed under warranty. Note that this was a different dealer, but in the same state with the same warranty.

I have read other places that this problem occurs when the seat is adjusted all the way back and that's when it happened for me. My very tall son drove the car and he set the seat all the way back and then the light came on
