The Qx80 drives great and shifts smoothly for the most part when driving, NOW here's the problem, after driving the vehicle and I decide to park in reverse, I put it in reverse and I park it, After coming back to my car and starting it, i try to take the shifter From park (p) into reverse to get to drive (d) the shifter has a hard time coming out of park, there is like a huge muffled bang noise. It shifts hard. You can DEFINITELY tell that is not normal. It does it EVERY SINGLE TIME when I reverse and then park it. NOW if I drive the vehicle and decide to park it and put the vehicle from drive into park immediately without reversing it does not bang when i start the vehicle back up and shift it out of park. it shifts smoothly.
So the way I solved this problem was after using reverse gear (R), I would than move the shifter back down into drive and than move the shifter back up into park without stopping at (r) reverse. So when I start the vehicle back up and move the shifter out of park it shifts smoothly and easily.
