Prior day before the brake, I had noticed a swaying/swinging in rear end of my car while out running errands. I thought it was just bad road or I had changed lanes not well. Didn't drive it the next day. Saturday morning I was enroute to pickup the grandkids to attend a free kids home depot workshop, I left my home and turned 1 block left to travel the route I normal take to their home. I go up a L hill and after I crest the hill I hear this loud clank noise. I thought that I had run over something so I pull over and check the rear view mirror, saw nothing. I got out and circled my car and after coming back around, on the driver rear I noticed a bar hanging down. So I get down and look to see this bar running from what appeared to be in front of my back rear tire to dangling down from where it appeared to be broken from corrosion and rusted from the frame of my car. I was 3/4 blocks from home so I slowly drove it back to my house where I have not driven it since. I took photos and showed it to my mechanic and he advised me not to drive it, that it appeared that a stabilization bar had broken it the car was not safe to operate. I live in Iowa and brought the car in 2008. They do salt and sand the street during the winter months. I am writing to see of what assistance I can receive to remedy my current situation due to the recall involving suspension corrosion. I do think that I have the sever case warranting Isuzu buying back my car. I eagerly await a reply from you. I have a 2002 Isuzu Axiom mileage 101,000.. while driving I hit a pot hole - the family heard a weird sound. We pulled over and noticed the passenger rear control arm had broken away from the frame. I took the vehicle to a welding shop to have it repaired. The welding shop called me after putting the vehicle in the air that the frame was totally rotted away.. some places of the frame you can put your hand thru the bottom and some places thru the top of the frame. There are other places that can not be repaired do to side rot of the frame.. the weld shop informed me the Axiom can not be repaired and can not pass inspection. I looked on line and found the ODI reports of similar problems - so here is my report. The rest of the Axiom is perfect no rust on the body and engine runs perfect. At this time the vehicle has a insurance value of $6,700 per an insurance adjustor, but insurance wont cover it. So im out a vehicle thanks to a company using inferior metal for a frame. Thank god I wasn't driving fast and didn't have a serious accident that caused the life of a family member or someone else.

This vehicle "looks" great. However, the tires are like ice skates on the slightest of wet roads. The car jumps to the side over any bump with sport ride engaged, and the whole car "bobbles"" with it off. The transmission did the slipping between 2nd and 3rd gear like others have said, resulting in having no vehicle for nearly a month while waiting for a transmission from france. "Isuzu" has no loaner car policy, so pay for a broken car, and have a nice walk. We purchased the car from courtesy Isuzu in brandon Florida. The people there were nice. We later moved to St petersburg, where we have had nothing but grief at bert smith Isuzu on US19. They were so lacking in care and concern over my wife daughter and I vehicle-less for a month, that when we finally got the car back, we refused to even bring the car there for our "free" oil changes. I'd rather pay $20 somewhere else than to deal with this dealership. Now the last straw... the other day the engine starts making a loud tapping noise as I'm travelling down the highway. I immediately got off the very next exit and coasted to a gas station. I bought a quart of oil and waited for the engine to cool a bit. I added the oil, started the engine, and no more sound. I drove home. 4th of July weekend, I hoped to limp through until Tuesday the 5th. Monday I drove my wife to her job about 5 miles away, and half way back, the sound returned louder than ever. I carefully drove the car the rest of the way home, and called aaa the next morning. Now my engine needs to be replaced, and because I didn't take my car to them for the oil changes, they are refusing to cover the engine without me showing them receipts I didn't know I needed to keep. My engine is dead, and they won't cover it. ?!?! the car is still well within coverage. With a year and a half left to go, what am I going to do"

Isuzu Axiom 2002. My wife was trying to merge onto james river freeway in springfield, mo from hwy 65 N. it was raining but her speed was less than 40 mph. She attempted to accelerate to merge into the traffic pattern and the SUV spun out of control and sent us down a boulder embedded embankment of about 30 feet. The SUV bounced over the boulders and came to a rest at the bottom of the incline. Fortunately we were able to 4 wheel drive out, two ruined tires, and the front bumper assembly ripped from the frame. My complaint is this: There was no practical reason for the SUV to spin out of control. The SUV has only 45,000 miles on it. I think there is too much torque for the suspension system.

The ABS light continuously illuminated. The vehicle was taken to dealer and they dealer replaced the bearings and hubs. While traveling at normal speed, the driver hit a slight bump and the vehicle made a loud grinding noise and jumped forward. Description of all problems are as followed: ABS sensor/hub bearing right side, ABS grinding, cracked arm rest, door panel arm rest cracked, the ABS light continuously stayed on, broken cargo cover hooks, left rear coil boot stuck, hub bearing right side, weather strip torn, exterior door trim chrome peeling, broken cargo cover holders, broken left rear coil boot stuck, torn weather strip, faulty hood lock would not open, knocking noise on the driver's side on right turns, the front windows were noisy at highway speeds, the rear bumper on the right side was loose, the steering wheel rubbed the column when turning, the remote didn't always open the driver door, the seat did not give the consumer enough leg room, the ash tray was not properly fit, the brakes would grab and vibrate when stopping and releasing, the front end was bumpy, when the consumer would turn the vehicle he felt he could lose control, at times the vehicle would display a fast start and on others times would be slugglish and would not take off, the transmission did not respond fast enough and the consumer would have to wait for passing gears to engage, the windshield would fog on the outside when the temperature was colder on the inside, the driver side spark plug boot closest to the drivers side was defective and did not come out with the coil, and the passenger seat handle would fall each time someone would attempt to get in the vehicle. The service dealer was not able to determine exactly where the knocking noise was coming from under the front end on right turns and suggested that Isuzu should be responsible. The consumer stated that the purchase sticker displayed 55% usa/Canada parts content.

When driven at highway speeds, the steering vibrated. The driveshaft was replaced, and the problem still recurred. When the vehicle was backed up, a thump was felt on every revolution on the drivers side. The axles were replaced, but the problem remained the same. The consumer felt a loss of control with the vehicle on turns, and a squeaking sound had come from the tires due to pitted rotors.
- Pittsburg, PA, USA
When the vehicle was started, the gas gauge would go pass empty and caused the engine light to appear, when going over bumps the vehicle would swing out (almost lost control), when the speed goes up to 60 mph the front end vibrates, and when a right turn was made, a cracking noise was heard. The dealer could not duplicate. Scc
