I purchased a 1994 Isuzu Rodeo with the V6 engine and 5 speed transmission. I was the second owner and the first owner had taken good care of the vehicle. I had the vehicle for about a year driving it back and forth to work about 26 miles a day. Then at 85,000 miles I lost all oil pressure and the engine locked up. What I found out is that the local Isuzu dealer wouldn't touch it and there are so many grams on this engine I couldn't believe it. Rebuilding the v6 engine is a nightmare. The aluminum engine is not only difficult but extremely expensive to rebuild and ISUZU will not stand by their products. If you are thinking about buying an ISUZU product please beware. I believe they are now offering a 100,000 mile warranty on their products. You better make sure you get it in writing. Also if you want transmission problems stay with ISUZU. Their 5 speed manual transmission design is so "screwed up" that even the best trained mechanics find it difficult. I realize that ISUZU has been building cars a long time and that overall their products are probably ok but heaven help you if you have a problem!!!!
