About These NHTSA Complaints:
The NHTSA is the US gov't agency tasked with vehicle safety. Complaints can be spread across multiple & redundant categories, & are not organized by problem. See the Back button — blue bar at the very top of the page — to explore more.
Vehicle will lose power intermittently while driving and sometimes when you try to start the vehicle it will be come dead. I-??ve replaced the battery and the problem still occurs. A few nights in a row the alarm system would just beep for no reason. I changed the key fob battery and that didn-??t help either. The engine makes a weird noise and constantly jerks.also the engine shakes extremely bad even though I-??ve had a tune up, I-??ve called Jaguar consumer services to find out about past recall details and was advised that information wasn-??t available to them if the services were actually completed or just cleared out & I-??d have to call the service center that completed the recall/repairs. It-??s impossible to do so as I-??m not the original owner. Jaguar advised they couldn-??t help and this is very common for the power train in these vehicles to malfunction however the manufacturer isn-??t being accountable. Also when I checked the recalls on NHTSA & Jaguar websites It indicated there-??s no recalls, however when I called Jaguar consumer services I was advised of 2 recalls/campaigns that relate to the engine light. I-??ve had a similar issue with a Range Rover that we checked for recalls and they were cleared from under the vin but the service wasn-??t performed and when we experienced the issue we were charged on 2 occasions and once I discover the issue previously had a recall they refunded one of the issues, they-??re all under the same umbrella and truly need to be investigated. I hope more people learn about reporting these issues to the nhtsa and other outlets instead of just reporting to Jaguar because they truly only want to get money out of the situation and don-??t want to be accountable for the defects of there vehicles.

The Check Engine light hasn't worked on our Jaguar F Pace since we bought it despite taking it multiple times to multiple dealerships (due to moving to three different cities). We were told by each dealership that it wasn't a issue unless it was flashing. The final straw was in Feb 2024 we were driving on a busy road (A1A) at 55 miles per hour and the car started jerking, making loud noises and then stopped. We had to have it towed and find transportation home. Thank goodness my husband was driving because I'm not sure how I would have handled it. The Fields Jaguar Land Rover of Jacksonville says that we must pay $20,000 to repair the entire engine and Jaguar North America won't do anything to help. Please help us and make sure this issue doesn't happen to anyone else. Defective indicator light like this is a major safety issue.

Korea has recalled this model of FPace because the timing chain is known to break with less than 50K miles. I have also read lots of posts on Jaguar forums about 2.0 Diesel FPaces being known to have timing chain failure which necessitated a complete engine replacement. I am terrified that my timing chain is going to come off and damage my engine every time I get in it.
