EVs are supposed to be charged late at night to lessen the load on the electric grid - all part of being environmentally conscious - and if you have timed electric rates as I do, it saves quite a bit of cash. All EVs have a timed charging function to accomplish this - and I've had a Leaf, Tesla S, and Tesla 3 that have done this without a problem. But the Jaguar is a different story: after you enter the preferred charging time (and you have to use their phone app to do this - can't be done in the car!) it will ignore the time and fully it charge soon after it is plugged in if the temperature is <60F. This is supposedly to protect the battery - but it should be designed to use the house power only to condition the battery but not charge it until the designated time.

So to use low electric rates and be environmentally conscious, I have to wait until well after 11pm to plug it in! Too bad, because the car has many strengths, but had I known this I would not have purchased it.
