Takata recall I received a recall on my 2010 Jaguar Xf (VIN# [xxx]) for takata airbag replacement (program code: J069). When I called the honolulu Jaguar dealer they indicated that I would need to pay the shipping cost from my home on the island of Hawaii to the island of oahu where the closest Jaguar dealer is located. That cost would be about $600. Having my car repaired is important for the safety of my family. The letter sent by the dealer initially indicated that repair would be without charge. Do I have any recourse or can the NHTSA help me on this issue? [xxx] information redacted pursuant to the Freedom Of Information Act (FOIA), 5 U.S.C. 552(B)(6).

Takata recall - I wasn't notified by Jaguar of the recall for passenger side airbag. I checked the NHTSA database and was made aware of it. After taking my 2010 Xf to the nearest jag dealership, they checked the recall database and told me that my car is one of the recalled vehicles. But they did not replace my airbag and it has been 5 months and I still haven't heard from Jaguar about bringing my car back to be fixed.

Takata recall Jaguar called me and are unwilling to do anymore than to tell me to drive the car--even with the defect. I cannot accept the responsibility of driving the car with my family in it, knowing it has a defect that "could cause serious injury or death". Jaguar unwilling to accept responsibility and provide a safe replacement. I have no use of my car. Now unwilling to return calls.
