I was driving my 2015 Jaguar Xf on 290 East bound in worcester MA when the vehicle lost power and broke down on the side of the highway barely in break down lane. It broke down due to oil leaking on the alternator which caused it to fail and the vehicle to break down. The oil leak was caused by a faulty gasket. I complained to Jaguar corporate and they will not do anything about it even though this gasket is known to go in the Jaguar and land rovers. I called aaa and they had to call an officer do the location of my vehicle. This should absolutely be a recall for this gasket. This is roughly a 2 to 3 thousand repair due to half the engine has to come apart. My father and I could of gotten killed do this happening. I have owned this vehicle for a year and 3 months and I have only put 13K miles on the vehicle. I have only had to do the oil change and rear brake pads. They told me they cannot do anything because they do know who worked on it. I work in service at a BMW dealership and my manager told me he would of good willed the problem. I have had only certified technicians work on the vehicle. Jaguar/Land Rover should have this either be a recall or at least a bulletin the fact that it caused a perfectly good alternator to go and cause my vehicle to break down on a major highway and could of gotten us killed is unacceptable. I would really appreciate if something could be done about this and since Jaguar refused to help me out at all. I look forward to hearing back. Thank you.
