My 2015 Jaguar Xj, which was in park gear - with engine running, started rolling back on the driveway in a dangerous and unexplained fashion and almost hit my kids and I. there was no-one in the car, and I was able to bring the car to a stop by jumping in and slamming the brakes. The car was rolling, not sliding. The contact owns a 2015 Jaguar Xj. The contact stated that while his wife was driving approximately 20 mph, the vehicle independently accelerated to approximately 50-60 mph. The contact stated the driver applied the brakes however, the brakes failed to stop the vehicle. The driver kept the brake pedal depressed until the vehicle finally came to a stop. The contact was unsure if there were any warning lights illuminated. The contact had not contacted the dealer. The manufacturer was not made aware of the failure. The approximate failure mileage was 34,900.
