We can smell gasoline in the passenger area of the car. It happens whether the windows are up or down, whether the air conditioning is on or off, whether the convertible top is up or down. Usually happens in hot weather, but then again we have only owned and driven the car during the summer. The manufacturer feels that the problem is a combination of high altitude in the denver area, high ambient temperatures, and the fuel formulation in the denver area. They say it only happens in their 4.0 liter supercharged engines. The problem is intermittent. Jaguar is in the process of buying our car back as they have not been able to correct the defect. It is happening to other customers as well. I feel that this is a safety defect and that the fuel fumes can lead to a fire in an accident or if the car is near an ignition source. These models should be recalled and a full refund given to the owners. Thanks.
