My speedometer does not work. I have had it fixed 2 times. Then it. Stops working again. My drivers seat rail broke on my Jeep and causes the seat to wobble all around. The seat are also broken in the same way on my 2000 Jeep and my 1996 Jeep too. What can be done. I have 4 Chrysler products. 3 Jeep have broken seats. 2 of the 4 have electrical issues. What can be done. Please let me know.

Driver's side seat frame broke. Seat wobbles back and forth. Obviously an unsafe situation being strapped into a seat that is not properly secured to vehicle. Will force of pushing brake pedal totally separate seat from vehicle? this is a major safety issue relative to passenger restraint (me) and braking or stopping of the vehicle(others). I have read where this is a common occurrence on Jeep of the same model and year as mine. Clearly, this is a manufacturing defect. I have never had a seat frame fail on any other vehicle that I have operated. This is not rust related. It is simply a failed vehicle weight reduction program that has blossomed into a full blown safety concern for both those in the vehicle and anyone else outside of the vehicle in its general proximity. Something needs to be done as vehicle owners will continue to operate these vehicles until the seat totally severs its compromised mounting and becomes totally detached from the vehicle. In the mean time, anyone in its path is at serious risk.

Driver's seat broke. The metal that the seat is bolted to is too thin. Luckily this happened in a parking lot and not on the highway.

My 1999 Jeep Cherokee has a broken driver's seat pan. I was coming to a red light and I heard a snap sound. I went to investigate and noticed that the metal seat pan is cracked all around the where the bolt holds it in the seat track. Now the seat rocks a little bit, and it's going to be a matter of time before the other corners crack due to the increased stress. I have not yet corrected the failure. But in order to do so, I will need a whole new seat. This is a safety issue because if these break, it will mean nothing is holding the seat in place. I know a lot of people in the Jeep community that have the same problem with the seat pans breaking.

1999 Jeep Cherokee sport front seat frame has broken causing seat to shift forward and backward as you drive, notice frame has come loose from popping rivet. I have filed this complaint because I have noticed a number of people with the same problem and same car which would indicate a manufacture defect in the design of the seat frame.

I was driving home from class today when I heard my seat pop. After that my seat became wobbly and unsecure. When I got home I went to check it out and the weld was ripped out causing the problem. What frightens me is I did not do anything unusual and if I got in an accident I could have been severely injured or worse.

I sat down in the driver's seat and leaned slightly back against the backrest and the seat broke where it attaches to its rails. Upon inspection it was broken at three places on the frame of the chair itself. This could have been a major safety incident if it had happened while I was driving the vehicle. Jeep should issue a safety recall as this is a substandard part.

The driver's seat has broken and has become very wobbly and unstable. I drive the vehicle normal and I am not an obese person. The seat started out just making creaking noises, then it broke in one spot and has since broken in a second spot. After doing some extensive research I have found that there are a lot of people complaining about this, yet there is no recall. Price to fix is between $400-800 at a dealership. If I were to get in an accident with the seat in the condition it is in, I could have worse injuries than if the seat was how it should be. I think that due to the fact of how many people have this problem with the Cherokee/Grand Cherokee, there needs to be a recall since it's a safety issue.

This is the only problem with the vehicle at this time. The consumer has contacted the dealership and states that they want 800 dollars to replace the seat. The consumer has not replaced the seat at this time.

I own a 1999 Jeep Cherokee sport and the drivers side seat frame broke. Upon bringing it to an auto body shop the employee told me when he ordered the part the parts store told him that they had a lot of them being ordered for that vehicle. I would like to find out if perhaps this should be a recall issue and if it is how to get reimbursed for the money I paid to have it fixed.
