About These NHTSA Complaints:
The NHTSA is the US gov't agency tasked with vehicle safety. Complaints can be spread across multiple & redundant categories, & are not organized by problem. See the Back button — blue bar at the very top of the page — to explore more.
Vehicle began to vibrate violently followed by a loud bang. There was smoke coming from the engine compartment. After shutting down the engine I found the plastic fan blades from the electric cooling fan had broken apart and were jammed into the fan pulley. I understand that there is a recall for the 2000 Grand Cherokee model for the same problem. Why is it limited to that model when evidently it is happening to other 2000 model Jeep such as mine a 2000 Jeep Cherokee classic. The recall for the other model is virtually the same problem that I have experienced. Why the limit ?
