Decelerating on I-75 off ramp to city street, turned off cruse control, Jeep stuttered to a stop when lightly pressing brake pedal. Accelerating cautiously, struggled to accelerate, rmp needle revving high, sluggish acceleration, jolted/stuttered to accelerate to 35-mph then accelerated normal. 4 miles down city street went to decelerate slowly for stop light, "service electronic brake system." Message came on screen, brake pedal became extremely stiff. Brake pedal would not press down as normal. Had to struggle just to get Jeep to stop at busy intersection almost rear ended vehicle in-front of me... placed Jeep in park, turned off & restarted Jeep, as past electrical issues in 2017 have happened with deceleration/acceleration (in 2017 turning off/on Jeep helped(past in 2017 bad battery cell dealership missed had to take somewhere else for correct diagnose/replaced battery)). Light turned green tried to accelerate through intersection to park in parking lot, Jeep barely accelerated to 10-15 mph "service electronic brake system" message came back on after 10 mph was reached. Had to jam down foot to barely move brake pedal 2 cm to come to a stop in the parking lot (almost hit building). Went to put driver side window down before turning off Jeep & driver side window wouldn't go down. Now safety issue might not be covered under warranty /dealership 70,774 mileage. These safety issues should always be covered for full life of warranty not just to 60,000 miles!!!!!

The contact owns a 2014 Jeep Cherokee. The contact stated that after the vehicle was parked, the shift selector was placed in the park position however, a message on the display stated to shift to desired gear. The vehicle failed to go into park. The vehicle was taken to brooklyn Chrysler Jeep Dodge Ram located at 2286 flatbush ave, brooklyn, NY 11234, (718) 713-3000, to be diagnosed. The contact was informed the failure was due to an issue with the transmission. The vehicle was not repaired. The vehicle was not included in NHTSA campaign number: 16V240000 (power train). The manufacturer was contacted and informed of the failure. The approximate failure mileage was 35,000.

Vehicle does not accelerate properly. If you slow down for a light which then turns green, when you go to accelerate the vehicle hesitates for several seconds. Also does it when pulling out from a complete stop. We have had several near rear end collisions because of this. Vehicle was purchased in Missouri and taken to the shop several times for this issue and each time the either said they found no issue or they flashed the computer. We are living in Utah now and the issue continues to the point my wife is afraid to even drive it. This is a daily issue when I go to work I have to enter a two lane highway with a speed limit of 65 mph and the vehicle will not accelerate.

Purchased used November of 2017. Has a little over 55,000 miles on it. Have noticed that the transmission seems to take longer than it should to shift and sometimes doesn't shift up at all or will shift down or even to neutral sometimes while driving at higher speeds. Also will lose power and then sometimes use a lot of power when not needed, causing the car to jerk or accelerate out of nowhere. Happens very often and has been continually getting worse since I've purchased it. But severely noticed it on my last road trip about 6 weeks ago.

Since we bought our car it has had several recalls as well as electrical, computer based, and power train issues. None of which were explainable. We were sinply told to take it to Jeep, put hundreds of dollars in to fix it and get it back. We've only had the car for abut 4 years. Yesterday, within a month of the last occurence, our car has frozen on us and will not start. Jeep hasn't done anything about this. We've known several other people who have had this same make and model who have had the same problems. We are not in a financial position to keep putting money into a car that should last us longer, or to sinply just trade it in since we still owe 10K on the car. This has also put our kids safety at jeopardy, has caused us loss of work days on top of putting us in a more financial burden. There needs to be something done about this. It is unfair that we soent so much money on a car that has malfunctioned several times due to being built so poorly.

The car will begin to hesitate and then the transmission will go into a neutral state, but the lights will not show that it is in neutral. The car will roll forward or backward depending on where you are. You cannot shift, when you do try to shift, the car will jolt like the engine is going to fall out of the car. Turning the engine off and on, several times, while waiting each time clears the problem. Jeep can not reproduce this it so they will not fix it. Will get a message on dash stating to service trasmission and parking break. This has happened at least 5 times that I have documented by pictures and video on my phone however, has happened a lot more. Specific dates documented are 11/19/17, 11/21/17, 11/29/17, 12/13/18, 4/2/19.

The contact owns a 2014 Jeep Cherokee. While driving various speeds or accelerating from a stop, the vehicle jerked, lost power, and shut down. In addition, the service shifter indicator illuminated. The vehicle restarted and was taken to classic Chrysler Jeep Dodge Ram of denton (940-230-2351, located at 4984 S interstate 35, denton, tx 76210) where the software was updated, but the failure recurred. The manufacturer was not made aware of the failure. The vehicle was not repaired. The failure mileage was approximately 25,000.

We purchased this from a dealer and a few daya agyer taking it. It started shifting very very hard. Also when you pit into gear sometimes it throws itself into park.

Vehicles nine speed automatic transmission does not go to first gear upon making a complete stop. The transmission goes automatically to third gear or second gear. This results in the transmission starting from a stop from third gear (unless manually downshifted) reducing power and can result in a slow take-off, increasing risk of a collision or the vehicle rolling back into vehicles behind the car. I have had several close calls because of this. Ninth gear never engages, this has to result in lowered fuel economy and reduced engine and transmission life as does starting from third gear. I believe the transmission to be defective and have read of numerous complaints from other customers of these exact same problems. The vehicle has received re-programming on all recalls and now Jeep customer service states this is "normal" and "no defect" thus, no repair necessary and not covered by warranty. Vehicle was advertised and sold to me as a "nine speed automatic transmission" in effect, Jeep deceived customers selling them an eight speed semi-automatic transmission. Email chain attached.

Transmission has undergone several recalls. With the currently 56,000 miles, the vehicle is stuck in park and will not shift into drive. Previous complaints to Jeep has been made of hard shifting, delay from stop then accelerating at light, slow launch and hard jerking from gear-to-gear at times. All recalls have been addressed and up to date; however, transmission isn't working properly. Literally scared of this vehicle now. Service has been conducted accordingly. Prior service conducted at Jeep service department and service techs have stated that nothing is wrong with the transmisison.

Alittle over 50K miles and 4 wheel drive light comes on and off while driving.. transmission and car was acting up, shut off while driving crossing a bridge to New Jersey. Took in for service was tcm in the transmission apparently covered with 16 days left on warranty.

I bought my 2014 Jeep Cherokee Oct.2016 I noticed when I would come to a stop or pull out it would stay stuck in the gear and then all of a sudden it like kicked into the gear with a jerk. I took it back to the service department and they told me there wasn't anything wrong. Well, it has never stopped and has gotten worse. What upsets me that there was a recall on this Jeep July 12, 2016 NHTSA campaign number: 16V529000 transmission may shift unexpectedly to neutral if the vehicle unexpectedly shifts to neutral, there is an increased risk of a crash. What makes it worse the dealership was unaware of this when they sold it or when I brought it back?? Friday I left work at 6 am I drive an hour I drive on busy highways my Jeep suddenly lost power on a dbl lane road with cars behind me and to the left, I am thankful I was on the right side that I could drift over to the side, but the snow that was packed along the guard rails still left me 1/2 in the lane flashing something about my transmission. Thank god I was not on Pennsylvania, interstate 70 when this happened because it would have been a major catastrophe with multiple vehicles and tractor trailers. I call the dealership where it was bought told him what had happened...I got an appointment in about 2 weeks this Jeep is unsafe!!!! plus there are other issues with it.

From day 1 this 2014 Jeep trailhawk in transmission has acted very weird..step on the accelerator and the engine spins, makes a huge bang and then slams into gear..this is usually when accelerating up slight inclines, hills or into my uphill driveway. The daily challenge is trying to avoid the Jeep shooting thru my garage door as I pull in my driveway. Also, does not shift properly..long hesitations between 2nd & 3rd while up-shifting..long delays in downshifting when instant acceleration is needed..very dangerous on the highway. 1st transmission incident - turned right into a very busy intersection, immediately a loud bang (like it popped out of gear) and every light on the dash started flashing and ringing with service transmission immediately visible..the vehicle had no acceleration (engine was running) and my foot was on the floor and just missed getting hit from behind as it coasted to a stop. After sitting in the middle of the intersection for 5 minutes with the vehicle off, started it up and most of the lights went off and it went back in gear but was in limp mode. The dealership took 1 week with the vehicle and everything was allegedly fixed with a wiring harness recall. All the original problems are still present except the lights on the dash are not on any more. 2nd transmission incident - turned left into a very busy, uphill intersection, the vehicle had no acceleration (engine was spinning) and my foot was pushing accelerator but wouldn't go anywhere. Slammed on the brakes to avoid getting T-boned by a truck coming down the hill and instead got rear ended and hit from behind. After being in the farrish Jeep Chrysler collision center for a week getting repaired it was returned to the farrish service center where no problems were found! but they reloaded software and said it would need to relearn my driving habits. All the problems are still present today!

9-speed transmission, when in drive and slowed to nearly a stop, drops into neutral and when I accelerate, the engine revs and the transmission slams into gear causing the tires to squeal. Complained and took into premier Dodge in tracy, ca and was told this is normal for this transmission. Began happening since new in 2014 and still have problem after many 'updates' and complaints to them. Major safety issue if I need to accelerate quickly!

Car stalled several times while moving when engine is cold this happened several times while turning and again when not turning, on city streets. 4 headlights blew within 7 days while both moving and while stationary. Hard shift between 2nd and 3rd and 3rd and 4th gears while moving on highway and city streets.

While stop at a light the Jeep stalled out with check engine light, parking gear light, and road hazard light came on. Then when I put it in park and back in gear it jerked badly as if the engine came out and bunny hop as it took off like some one learning to drive a standard. Some times while driving it roughly shifts into 2nd. And it stalled once on a major highway which is dangerous.
