On or about May 11th I received a notice of a recall on my vehicle. This recall notified me that my car could catch fire due to a faulty liftgate. The notice stated that there is no remedy available at this time so they recommended that I do not park near other vehicles or near any buildings. With safety being a concern, I reached out to the dealership that I purchased the vehicle from (Carmax) to see if they could help me in getting a rental vehicle or a loaner vehicle, so that I could drive safely without any concerns until the recall is fixed. They refused to help me, stating that they did not manufacturer the vehicle so I had to reach out to the manufacturer for any assistance. I then reached out to Jeep, who is the manufacturer, and also tried to request any assistance in this matter. I first went to the dealership directly and asked if there was anything they could do to assist me and they denied me stating that jeep does not provide any rental vehicle assistance in regards to recalls. When I advise them that this is a safety concern, they said I should reach out to customer service. I then called customer service with the number that they provided, and they also refused to help me. They stated that they could not provide any rental vehicle assistance or loaner vehicle, while I am waiting for the recall to be resolved. They stated they have no policy that requires them to do so. I advised them that this is a safety concern as my vehicle could catch fire based on the parameters of the recall and they said it did not matter. I asked to speak to any supervisor or management and they refused to connect me stating that the policy is the policy and the manager will tell me the same thing. I am requesting assistance in this matter, since it has been months without any remedy for the recall, and it is unsafe for my vehicle to be driven.

Due to the Safety Recall 49A - I am told that I am to leave my vehicle parked nowhere near buildings or other vehicles as there is a fire safety concern with vehicles catching fire whether or not the ignition is on. I called the Mopar line, and was not that it was not urgent and to take it to my Jeep dealership to have it examined to determine if I needed a rental - even though the recall states that it's to be parked due to a FIRE SAFETY concern. The dealership says they were never given information on what was needing fixed so they wouldn't know what to look for - I call Mopar back. They said they didn't know why I was told to go to the dealership and that if the recall doesn't state they'll offer a rental, then they won't offer a rental. But I can pay out of pocket for a rental and MAYBE get reimbursed by them for it, if they deemed it necessary. I have ONE vehicle, and I'm a single mother that drives her child to school. Explain to me how I'm to do that if they want me to PARK it" Not to mention, the Mopar CS refused to tell me it was safe to drive because she "couldn't say that." So, I'm suppose to drive a vehicle that can catch on fire without even being on when it's my only means to drive my child to school or get groceries - and they can't tell me it's safe to drive BUT refuse to offer a rental because it's fine? How is this fine" This is a safety concern (as the recall states) and a serious liability with a possible lawsuit waiting. It's been recalled since May, it is now August, and they have no idea when it may be fixed - three months have already passed without a fix, and they think it's fine to drive while stating not to drive it. What am I supposed to drive? I can barely buy groceries, I have no credit cards to rent a vehicle. I'm literally terrified every time I drive my daughter anywhere because we could die. But Mopar tells me it isn't urgent and I don't need a rental - when the recall, and them, say otherwise while stating it's fine. Deathtrap.

My 2014 Jeep Cherokee Impreza is stalling and lurching from a stop position as I press the excelerator to enter a street. This is especially problematic since I have to enter a Highway ( Oregon Coastal Highway 101) from a stop position turning right to go into town.This has been a problem for approximately 1.5 years and is a safety issue that could result in a fatal accident and is becoming more frequent.

The Emergency Parking Brake engages on its own, and the car can not move forward. The car engine fails and stalls, the vehicle can not be shifted, and I have a loss of steering control. Dash reads error of parking brake needs service, power steering is out, and check engine light comes on. The car won't restart for approximately 1 hour and then turns over and starts. This problem happens intermittently with no warning. It has happened both when parked and moving. I have had the vehicle in at a Jeep dealership but they were unable to diagnosis. It appears to be part of the same case number

My 2014 Jeep Cherokee is impacted by the 49A Safety Recall for Power Liftgate Module, for which there is no remedy. I've been advised by Jeep's recall not to park inside, or park near a structure, or park near other vehicles as the vehicle can catch on fire, whether driving it or not. These requirements make my vehicle useless. I have called Jeep and was told I also cannot trade it in during a recall. I asked about compensation, or their providing transportation until a remedy is available, and was told that's not possible. This Jeep is obviously not safe and Jeep is not providing any solutions.

While driving, at any speed, for any length of time (sometimes minutes, sometimes hours) the car will act like it is shifting to neutral, no matter how fast I am traveling, it-??s happened at 10 mph and up. It-??s random, no rhyme or reason. It has been in 4 shops since November and does not code for errors. No one has found the issue. It is unsafe as it will redline the rpm, make the accelerator useless, and the only cure is to drop the car into neutral and abruptly stop. This can lead to a serious accident as there is not time to come to a safe stop or pull over safely on certain roads. It appears like this may be the same issue as a recall from 2016, maybe the fix didn-??t fix the hazard? Some lights flash on the dash. Immediately when it happens, the traction control light comes on, and occasionally the -??service transmission-?? warning will briefly appear. My transmission has been checked multiple times now and it appears to be in good condition. One jeep dealer thought it could -??maybe-?? be a transfer case issue as it wasn-??t going into gear. They did the W20 recall and it hasn-??t had that issue since. The red lining and apparent neutral shift is still happening. We had another shop give us a 2nd opinion on the transfer case, it was functional and nothing was wrong with it. Two shops concluded the transmission and transfer case were fine. We have had three diagnostics on the car, one came back with a faulty oil sensor, which turned out to be unplugged, however we replaced it anyway to be safe. And one came back with voltage errors since it sat in their parking lot for a month, they replaced a battery cable and nothing else came up. But they were willing to replace the transfer case in a maybe, which prompted our second opinion. This is frustrating and I am terrified to drive it. The last time I did I nearly got hit by a semi truck when it redlined the rpm and I had to abruptly stop where there was no safe place to pull over. This happened 4x in 20 miles

My car shuts off while driving and idling. I have taken it to a shop and they could not find anything wrong with it. I have also taken it to a dealership, it is on its third time in 6 months being there. They have gotten the car to shut off while driving it, but they do not know what is wrong with it, as there are no codes populating. I have put $2000 into this for issues that are not correcting the actual problem. This is a safety hazard, as I have almost been hit multiple times, because it is stalling out. I have contact Jeep corporate and they were in contact with me for a while, but now they will not answer my calls or emails. My dealership says they are at the point of making a case too, as no codes are being thrown and they do not know what is wrong with it. My children are scared to be in the car with me and this is my only vehicle. I am borrowing one now, but the person needs it back.

Body control module failed at 59, XXX miles. Vehicle could not read gears and wouldn't shift into gear. The second time the vehicle wouldn't shut off and continued to stay in run. Vehicle failed to read the right gear while driving. First warning light was service parking brake and service transmission. After that no warning lamps. After inspection the BCM failed and is a discontinued part for the vehicle. Was repaired at the dealer and 7 days later the vehicle failed with same issues and is currently undrivable. Purchased in Feb 16th 2023 and have had it on the road for 30 days total.

My Parking break became stuck ON and would not turn off. A warning light came on to service the parking brake. The car would not move. Upon inspection of the EPB module, it was wet, with corrosion, to the point where water can be heard in the module unit. That area of the rear of the car was also wet. My car will not drive and I will be taking it to a Jeep dealership shortly.

The body seam is leaking causing floor board in front and rear to have puddles of water in the floor, and mold. I'm on oxygen. This is not safe at all. Also the rear Mopar had to be replaced cause of park brake failure. This needs to be recalled asap. It's happening on a lot of your jeep cheerokees. Thank you

My Jeeps Transmission is going into Neutral while I'm driving in the freeway I'm unable to accelerate and at times have lost power in the freeway and it restarts when I put into park or turn it off. when I place on park or turn off, the system restarts. I had a recall supposedly fixed for this issue back in 2016 but the problem restarted again several years ago. I took the jeep to Norco Jeep in California in December 2022 and they stated they would "email Chrysler" and I have sent 3 follow up messages and no replies or responses. The mechanics at the dealership stated there was loss of control because the tires have different measurements. I mentioned to them I replaced all 4 tires 2 years ago and problem has still been ongoing. When the car is about to lose power, the transmission light goes on and starts losing velocity while in the freeway or in the streets ( mostly freeway) from 65 mph to 40, and then 20mph and at times it stops if I'm going uphill and starts rolling back. I am very worried for my safety and the safety of my 3 children and I am sending this email in the event of an accident to proof that I have made attempts to receive assistance. I'm in need of urgent assistance. Thank you

ive had my cherokee for over a year now, the transmission in it isnt great. Shifts funny alot. (hard shifts, late shifts). I was driving on a back road and after a sharp curve where i had to slow down. After exiting the curve i tried to speed up and the transmission jerks so hard it nearly sent me into the opposite lane with incoming traffic. its happened serveal time now over the last year. I have taken it to the dealership to have it look at. I was told "thats just how those 2014s are" "we can try and flash it but theres nothing else we can do. it was just as it should but a see what you are talking about" There were no warning lights on or anything else that would indicate this happening. First appeared september of 2021, one month after purchase. Dealership does know about it and says thats how they are. They always work on my vehicles for me and i trust their judgement. but after the near miss of a head on collision, it has me worried.

Everytime i put m y car in reverese, back up, stop, and then put my car in Drive mode, the car will just stall out, The whole car turns off, Occasionaly, the car will not even shift and will be stuck in Reverse. When that happens, i am unable to turn the car and obisouly i am not able to restart the car. I then have to initatite the emergency brake, then wait sometimes up to an hour. Then try to shift the care to park to restart the car. Then once i restart the car it appears the car works just fine until next time i reverse.
