power transfer unit (ptu) noise and leak

Started with code 4WD overheated temporarily unavailable. Slipped at every stop and lights with a bit of snow. 4x4 was gone... wheels were slipping on icy hill, still not sure how I've made it that day.

Same 4WD overheated code came back a few time until the Service 4WD light stuck and that was on a dry road... checked under the car next day and Gears fluid has been leaking.

Brought it in at the dealer, PTU (Transfer case) is to be replaced due to mechanical failure. Part is backordered I am to wait 1 month before they can receive and fix it.

I am being told this is something "Normal" @146,000km... what a lemon...
