October 19, 2017 To Whom it may concern; Originally My wife and son took delivery on April 2014 in Idaho. We had keep the car in the garage and rarely drove it until this past summer when we took a planned road trip to western national parks we had never seen. We had the car checked at the dealership prior to the trip and no issues were brought up. The car had less than 25,000 miles then during the trip we noticed issues with the transmission and brakes. We took the car to a Jeep dealership and told it would get us home. We turned the car into the Tacoma Jeep dealership @ 30,000 miles and determined that the warranty took care of the transmission and also discovered on the internet that there was a problem with the 2014 and 2015 Jeep transmissions. We were given a rental car and the repairs took over a month. My wife was contacted that the car was ready and that the rental car was not available by the next day. This was a very short notice, and very unprofessional for a dealership given the circumstances.
Today I drove our 2014 Jeep Cherokee for the first time since my wife brought it home from the dealership after a transmission replacement due to defective design. I drove to the Gig Harbor Post Office and returned. The transmission is still acting like it has a mind of its own, but during the return trip while in an intersection making a left turn to the Hy 16 on ramp. The car acted like the engine had died, (Absolutely no response from the transmission) for about 7 seconds and seemed like an eternity, trying to determine what to do with oncoming traffic. (One thousand one, one thousand two, one thousand three, one thousand four, one thousand five, one thousand six, one thousand seven.) The transmission finally engaged and I was able to clear the intersection. This brings the cars reliability and safety into sever question. This incident also brings into question wither a repair was made to the design of the transmission had been accomplished if any. I also noticed on inspection while the vehicle was running from outside of the engine compartment that what sounds like an exhaust leek and a higher noise level than when the fairly new car (30,000 miles)was turned in for repair.
I no longer trust this car and consider all 2014 and 2015 Jeep Cherokees as defective, due to the transmission design Gary Wurts (MSgt Ret)

The car has been doing all of this since I purchased it three months ago. Car stalls and completely shuts off. Told it's gas and not to fill up gas tank. Not sure how this effects the transmission. Car jerks into gear or right before shutting off. Shakes, is loud. Does this with or without filling up the tank. Car had barely half a tank when I purchased it and it did it then. The very next day. I have an extended warranty and I believe the power train warranty still applies but they won't fix the problem. Keeps saying it's not pulling or storing codes. Engine light and service transmission light comes on and stays on. Not on the next next. Hard starts. Trans is slipping.

This Jeep has been the worst, I have no idea why I bought this thing. Transmission is garbage, TCM replaced, still does the exact same thing. Not shifting properly, loud thuds when shifting, vehicle stalling out when idle, etc.
What are my next steps to get rod of this vehicle and have FCA pay for it??

The dealer said the stalling and erratic action of the transmission would be solved with a software upgrade. They completed the software upgrade and the issue remains. Taking it in again but they are reluctant to do anything besides the software upgrade.

Today 8/4/15 I have sent an email to Ally Financial to terminate my SUV lease! My vehicle has remained at Sterling Heights Chrysler Jeep since Saturday July 25, 2015 and I refuse to pay for a vehicle that has to have a transmission replacement. This vehicle has had wiring problems since I picked it up from the dealership! Last year radio completely replaced and trunk handle nonfunctional!
I complained about SUV jerking while accelerating since August 2014!!
However the Chrysler mechanic would always say they couldn't find anything and when I went recently July 2015 to Oak Park Chrysler dealership the mechanic there stated (I was pressing too hard on gas pedal) and that's why my vehicle is jerking like wild horse.
My previous vehicles were a Toyota Camry & Mercury Sable last Chrysler vehicle I had was in the 1990's.
I am totally dissatisfied customer and would like some real results without ruining my credit!
Update from Dec 5, 2015: Had my 7yr old in 2014 jeep Cherokee Suv started jerking & idled stop moving on me twice 12/5/15 @3:30pm I don't want this dangerous vehicle anymore

However , Today my 7yr old and I was driving in 2014 Jeep Cherokee Suv and it started jerking & idled stop moving on me twice 12/5/15 @3:30pm. I was stuck in the middle of intersection 13mile & Utica for 1minute fortunately no one was tailgating & I didn’t get in a car accident. I don't want this dangerous vehicle anymore I don't want be a victim of being killed in a dangerous vehicle!!! I sent emails to BBB, Chrysler customer care & Roseville Dealership who had my vehicle towed 25800 Gratiot Ave, Roseville, MI 48066 However yesterday 12/7 @6pm Roseville Chrysler Jeep dealership Service:(888)409-5930 called to tell me it was my error that jeep Cherokee stop working because it was "due an oil change in October". I told repair shop my husband and I need to speak to a manager because 1st I received no light signal or notification from this digital display stating I needed an oil change which is provided by 2014 jeep Cherokee second there is no way the vehicle should have been dry out of oil unless there is leak or something cause oil to dry up. This vehicle is a lemon and is dangerous and all I want is to exchange for another vehicle that is not a Cherokee.
This 2014 jeep Cherokee has had radio replaced / door handle replace/ transmission replaced & two recalls
Do I have any legal recourse because I don't want to file chapter 13
I just want to drive a safe vehicle to drive to work and drop off my 7yr to school

On March 3, 2015 Titus Jeep in Olympia Washington was authorized by me to do an oil change on our new 2014 Cherokee Latitude. Without consulting me, notifying me or even attempting to contact me. They forged my initials on an authorization form to perform recall updates on my tranny. When I picked up the car after hours, there was no paperwork. No big deal, just an oil change. Then I noticed that there were a bunch of new miles on my car. Not typical to perform a 12 mile road test for an oil change. So I called.
This is when they confessed to performing the tranny update. Now the car hesitates to get going from a stop or slowdown. Took the car to a different dealer to fix. They re-updated the tranny. Not fixed. Took it back in yesterday to get fixed. They called today to say that there is no problem with the way it shifts. It is designed to have a slight stall in first gear like that. I call BUL#*HIT on that!!!!! I am going to take it to a different dealer next week. If that doesn't pan out, my state, Washington, has a pretty good LEMON LAW.

Car started fine, I pulled out of my drive way, turned a corner, and the battery light came on along with a message along the lines of changing gears in order to keep driving. Gas pedal stopped working but car was still “on†– lights, radio, etc. I press the start button to turn the car off but the “run†light stays light up. I push the button again and the car turned off. I sat for a few minutes and turned the car back on; the digital dash screen flashes a lot of symbols (lightning bolt, battery light, and a few others I do not recognize) – the speedometer eventually reads “0†so I press the gas pedal, nothing happens but finally my car jerks and starts moving. I drove a few feet and the car "died" within a block - this time in an intersection! I went through all of the steps listed above and my car drove again, thankfully not dying a 3rd time in the same "trip".
I got updates done to the computer on 1/16/2015- one of the five should have fixed the issue see picture (so says the mechanic) ... obviously none of the updates worked. I'm dropping my car off again on Monday (1/19/2015) worrying my 8 month old car may need a new transmission.
Thank goodness my car is still under warranty but each update is $50.

3rd Problem with this vehicle! First the vibration, then the software recall to fix the inconsistent shifting (which still occurs), then the car shuts down on the road! Again, they had to get management permission for car rental. I am VIP 100,000 mile warranty with a car that doesn't work at 9k miles and I have to TELL them I WILL get a rental! When the car was returned, they put over 100 miles on my car and there is no description on the paperwork of problem or fixes! That is a major cover up in my opinion. $30k for a car with less than 10k miles and it's been in the shop 3 times. NOT HAPPY and not confident in this car.

While driving it jerks then if you hit the gas the rpm moves very slow, acts like it doesn't want to move. It began starting and runs very slow, sometimes it will drive with no problems other times you can be riding and it starlts and like its in a slower gear and hitting the gas pedal for it to go faster, it wont pick up the speed.
Did not have this problem until the service transmission light came on and I took it jeep in Orangeburg to get it service at that time it was supposedly been service transmission fluid put in the diagnostic test shows no signs of any trouble with the transmission. A few days later I had the same problem with the vehicle as I did before.
I took it back to jeep to see what was the problem then they said they had to reset after putting a new battery because that's what we thought was wrong so after that it was doing the same thing so they said they reset the computer even after that my complaint to jeep there were nothing wrong with my vehicle until i took it there to be service because the service transmission light had a came on for the first time and I immediately took it to jeep to have it service within days after the service light came on less than a week after jeep service my vehicle I was driving it and it did the same thing this time it would not move I had to get it towed home they said they did TCM P1634-00 TCM internal watchdog performance TCM U0001-00 CAN C BUS TCM P0810-00 Clutch Position control error.
Less than a week later I had the same problem jeep would not honor that either something wasn't done to fix the problem or they got the wrong diagnostic reading. I only had this vehicle less than 4 years and I had no complaints until I took it to get service. As of today I am having the same problem the service light still comes on and it will drive good then start to run slow. I am afraid to drive it more than 30 miles, afraid I will get hit or cause an accident if I'm in traffic. If there's anything that can be done or any recalls to get help fix or find the solution I will very much appreciate a feed back. This is very serious and dangerous.
