I just had my State inspection, oil change and tire rotation done not even 4 days before having this issue, and they said my vehicle was great and passed it. 4 days later I go to work and people were staring at me when I arrived. I was like why are you staring at me; they said you know your wheels are smoking. I looked and both rear tires were smoking bad and you could hear knocking coming from them trying to cool off.
So the next day I took it to the dealer who handles everything on my vehicle. They apologized that they did not catch this on the inspection but it would have been hard to detect. Then proceeded to tell me it would be $400.00 to replace everything which had to be done but they would give me $20.00 off for the inconvenience. They said if I had read my manual I would know I need to have my brakes cleaned every 15,000 miles and it would cost about $200.00 to do so. They said at 75,000 miles is usually when you have to replace them.
Well heres my issue with that: my vehicle only has 30,000 miles on it. I have full coverage and extended warranty on everything, this is my baby. When I schedule an appointment with them, I say to them do everything you need to do, yet they failed to tell me my vehicle needed this done so I lost 45,000 miles off my back brakes and $400.00 in the hole and cost me a 1 day of work to sit and wait for my vehicle to be dealt with something that really should have been caught during my state inspection. What also bothers me is I have heard of one caliber sticking before but not 2 at the same time unless the vehicle sits for long periods of times in which mine does not. I believe there are 2 possible causes here: first is maybe my back calipers were defective. The second thought is Dick Poulin's Dealership in Rochester NH messed up somehow and won't admit it.
