I have owned my 2016 cherokke since Jan 2020 in April it began to run funny thats when I discovered the vehicle suffering from excessive oil consumption. I have been to multiple dealerships doing oil consumption test just to be told I went over the mileage a new test has to be started. Now here I am with the same issue just the run around. I also have a trans that clunks and bangs into gear. Sometimes it will hang before shifting or gear hunt and try to shift into two gears at once. I told the dealer this to be told that was normal or that my brakes were the problem. It still hasnt been resolved im stuck paying on this junk I owe more than its worth so I cant get rid of it. I just want Jeep to take accountablity and fix it or replace it. All of these issues happend in city driving on busy roads and interstates as well as country areas with traffic.

When turning, left or right my 2016 Jeep Cherokee stalled. It emitted a ding sound and flashed the message 'shift gear to park first'. the battery light and check engine light illuminated and the engine shut itself off. I lost power steering and acceleration. It has happened 7 times since December 2019, sometimes multiple times a day. I suspect the oil level being low is the cause. But I have no indication that the oil level gets low.

I bought my car brand new in 2016. At 33,000 miles the engine failed resulting in the car shaking when accelerating in motion and the engine light came on. I brought it in and was told the spark plugs failed and they were replaced. At 58,000 miles the same thing happened again. I was told it was the spark plugs and these were replaced again. At 74,100 it happened a third time. I brought it to a different dealership. At this time, the car was almost 10,000 out of warranty. The dealership informed me that there was oil leaking out of my engine onto my spark plugs causing the spark plugs to mud up and fail and that I would need a new engine. After some arguing back and forth, fca, usa agreed to supply a new engine if I paid for the labor, which I did.

Without warning my 2016 Jeep Cherokee will stall in the middle of the road. I have checked the oil after this occurred and there was very little oil left. No indicator lights came on and this has now happened while driving at about 35-45 mph and while making left turns. The oil is consistently changed at 5000 miles and this occurs after about 2000 miles

My car started up fine then I was leaving a parking lot and my car literally stopped and died. I turned the key and my car wouldn't start up. I waited again and it still wouldn't start. I thought it was my battery so I had someone use jumper cables I waited a little bit longer and my car started up. Then the next day I drove it to the dealer ship then my husband was told when the oil gets to low the car automatically dies there are no warning signs, there's nothing you can do to fix this problem and that it's very common in my type of Jeep. So I've been checking my oil and every 2 days I have to put oil in my car because I'm scared that my car will stop on a major high way.because there was no way to fix this and I don't know where the oil is going in my car.

First this Jeep uses oil fast. I have to put oil in the car way before it's due to be ch aged. The car will stall and stop and have no power. It has shut off on me in the middle of a busy hwy and would not go. I had to cut it off and back on it would go about 500 feel and do it again. Now this Jeep has left me stranded a few times. It just would not crank. Replaced battery in key fob and still nothing. The car will randomly shut down and flash codes. It told me to service transmission about 54000 miles and wouldn't go. Brought it to a dealership and they updated it but those problems only fixed it for a few months.

My 2016 Jeep Cherokee latitude 4 X 4 overheated bursting 2 cooling heater hoses, drained out all the antifreeze coolant. Mechanic hopes that head gasket will be the only damage otherwise can ruin the engine and that will cause a engine replacement which will be a very high cost.

  • 40,000 miles
Started having service shifter codes at approximately 30K. Would be repaired & after about 8 wks it would throw the same code. Repeated the same cycle 2 adtl times. Took a total of 4 times till the entire shifter, module & wiring were replaced. At 40K miles my Jeep died on me going down a hill. Had to coast down hill & find a halfway safe area off the highway. I had no ability to start the vehicle. The electronics would come on when I turned the key but it would not turn over. All the lights on the shifter would be solid & the service shifter alert came on. Immediately called the dealership. The service adviser walked me thru how to reset the car. Wait for 5 minutes. Turn the key on & let it cycle. Turn the key off. Repeat the process 3 X's till it starts. Took it into the dealership & was told the thermostat module & the radiator. Neither of which would be covered under warranty. Same time I also had an oil change done. 2 1/2 mths later same issue. Die going down a hill. Again took it to the dealership. Told that it was a sensor & wasn't covered under warranty. Had an oil change done this time. I have not replaced any parts on it yet. The thermostat module & the radiator are still the same as the first time I took them in. 8 weeks later same issue. I took it to my local auto repair in town since the dealership could not get me in for 2 weeks & the Jeep was leaving me coasting for a safe space to pull over in traffic. Within 2 minutes they discovered Jeep was 2 quarts low on oil. The engine was losing oil pressure & was shutting off the engine to keep it from damaging the motor. Since then I've tried to schedule service with two different dealerships only to be told that using 2-3 quarts extra of oil in between oil changes is normal & they can not do anything.

Car shuts off randomly while driving! loose power steering and power breaks. After looking online, this seems to be a common occurrence. Car stopped in the middle of an intersection! dealership explanation is that the oil is low and car is designed to shut off while driving if the oil is low. I just had an oil change and no oil light ever came on. Many people reporting the same and that this engine burns a whole quart of oil per 750 miles!!!
