bought this cherokee i think it was sept. 2016 for my wife. vehicle is awsome v6 power ride and comfort BUT DONT DRIVE IT AT NIGHT my wife told me 2 months later that the headlights suck and this is with the fog lights on. she works a 2nd shift and is driving home at night and wants to use my 2015 gmc canyon because she can see so much better ,i told her it is just you,now i dont drive this vehicle very much and when i do it is in daytime, but when christmas eve 2016 came and had to go to her sisters she said lets take the jeep and you drive AND BOY WAS I SURPRISED SHE WAS NOT FULL OF SH*T headlights are so bad i apolagized to her and told her i will fix this will up grade to led lights for a cost of $100.00 will let you know how it works out

The headlights are not bright at all. I keep my lights on high beam at night and no one ever flashes their lights at me to turn them down.On back roads that I travel they are awefull. When you test drive a vehicle you don't drive them at nigh,t so you never know how the head lights are. I am driving to Florida and I don't think I should be responsible to have the head lights replaced. It should be the responsibilities of Jeep to pay for replacement of the lights. It is a real safety factor.

I bought a new 2016 Jeep Cherokee and all was good until I drove it at night where there isn't an abundance of street lights. The illumination is so dim ..it is worse than an 83 Buick. I can't believe this is on a new car. I took it to my local dealership and they said they get complaints about it but there is nothing they can do. They did check out the lights and said they are in working order and agree...very dim. This is more than just a hassle. IT IS DOWNRIGHT DANGEROUS!!! I can't see to drive safely at night, in the rain, snow or fog. And no it isn't my eyes. My previous cars lit up the night. Driving on country back roads as I have to do is now just frightening and dangerous. Chrysler has changed the lights on the 07...coincidence??? NO!!!! Do something for those of us that are left with this mess before a tragedy happens.

Driving at night on paved roads without reflective signs or lines, or on dirt roads, or in towns w/o street lights or in remote rural areas the head light level, dims or brights, is dangerously low. We barely missed colliding with over 35 different deer encounters in a twenty mile stretch. Also, we had difficulty visually picking up side streets at night in small towns with no street lights or reflectorized signs.

Also, what lighting our jeep provides, is too narrow beamed. It does not adequately illuminate the shoulder area to the driver's right.

Also, under normal night driving situations, the headlights of oncoming traffic significantly over power our jeep's lighting making staying in our lane even more difficult.

These headlight SUCK!!! I was in an Acura TSX and the illumination on those HID were very pleasing. These HID's we have on this Jeep Cherokee ....like I said before SUCK!!! It's not that bad when its clear night but any kind of overcast or drizzle of rain and I'm trying to guess where the lines on the road are at.

I called the dealership where I bought this "vehicle" and they said that I would have to find someone who does aftermarket upgrades to install a brighter bulb.... are you kidding me ? I'm sure this would void my warranty I'm almost positive. This is my second Jeep and my last my first was a 1993 Jeep Cherokee. I was in love with it, This one not so much.

Update from Oct 26, 2016: Update! I actually don't have HID on this Cherokee almost after a year of searching and trying to find out if someone else had the same problem... Turns out they are Halogen projector headlights!!! No freakin wonder!!! So if you go to your local Autozone or O'Reily's you can get the replacement bulb. I got the silverstar ultra they were $53.00 without tax and it took me about an hour to instlall both but I Can see the road now even when it's overcast or raining. But have developed a problem the last six months with the Left turn signal going out about once or twice a week... Can't get a break with this dang car!

I find my New 2016 Jeep Cherokee a First class car in Every way, but in short the Headlights are so poor on High or low beam is very bad from a safety point. after taking my new car back the dealer with my complaint they reset the headlights telling me they were set to low, o By the way they set them using a door as a guide is there no instrument available for this job in North America.? I left the dealer and that night I proceed to check out my head lights they were no better. I called the dealer They tell me all they can do is install stronger bulbs at my expense, good lord the car is new and i Have to pay extra to see where I am going in the dark I dont think so. so what is my next move do I stay home in the dark ? persevere and hope I dont hit or kill someone or pay a lot of money and have Seal- beam headlights installed for the sum of $646.36 plus shipping and then instillation on top a tidy sum to pay out on a new Car ?
