Was driving about 30-35 mph on busy street and engine shut off in the middle of the street. An error message came up on the dashboard to put the Jeep in P and select desired gear. After about 10/15 attempts had to call tow truck as I was blocking traffic and Jeep had to be towed to dealer. They said the sensors went out and fuel pump and alternator had to be replaced. Had to wait on parts and took 10 days to get jeep back.

Every morning when I leave for the day and get about a block or two from home, my car engine will shut off and put me into neutral while driving, display "Shift to P then desired gear" on the dash, and the battery light will come on. I have to then shut off my car and try to restart it but when I try to immediately restart my car I have to hold it and wait for it to stutter and kick on. I know this is bad on the starter/ignition but it's been the only way to get my car out of the road. It won't do it for the rest of the day no matter how many times I turn my car off and on. I believe it has something to do with sitting over night that adds to it.
So far, my car is at a Jeep dealer and they're finding no issues and not able to "replicate the problem". I'm seeing online that numerous people with 2015-2018 Jeep Cherokees/Grand Cherokees with mileage around 60k-80k are having this same exact problem and with shops/dealers also telling them they don't see a problem. Some forums and owners have mentioned their shops telling them about wiring being an issue but still not sure if that resolved anything yet. I'm waiting to hear back but seems like I have a bumpy road ahead of me trying to get shops to figure this out and possibly the manufacturer because this is too common to be a coincidence.
