Cherokee

  • 1,200 miles
At about 1200 miles, dashboard lit up, car stalled and needed to be towed. Dealer changed battery. Bringing home form dealer, happened again. Dealer had it two weeks. Picked it up and at 1600 miles, happened again. Dealer had it three weeks and changed out computer. Picked it up and next morning dashboard lit up. Stopped car before it could stall, and had it towed to dealer. After two weeks I picked it up. I don't want to drive it. 4 times in for the same issue, and over 45 days in the dealer. Dashboard warning lights: Airbag, braking, park assist, electronic stability, battery, lane warning, etc. If there are warning lights on the dash, it lit up like a christmas tree. All issued happened while the auto was in motion

System controls shut down during driving. Lcd goes blank, or screen locks up, and audio shuts off. Sometimes, the entire control system shuts down and I have to stop and restart the car to get it to reboot. This happens while in motion and when at a stop.

Purchased the vehicle brand new in November 2018 and on several occasions within the past couple months, including today, the red brake light on the dash has spontaneously activated. Most of the time it occurs when I come to a stop light and auto shut off kicks on, however, this issue is very serious since its basically stalling my vehicle while in route, and is very scary since I drive my child around. I've also taken it into the dealership to have it looked at and they are unable to determine the issue, which is extremely disheartening.

As I am driving the battery light comes on and the car starts to stall and I am prompted to put the car in park as the D is blinking as is the battery light. I have to turn my car off then back on and it takes a minute to turn on then it goes. My battery is at its halfway mark per the vehicle info on the car. Then when I turn corners my car beeps and the speedometer word appears above the speed.

Am radio muffles on occasion. I have the alpine radio system with surround sound. It also has sirius radio which is not being subscribed to. It has been noticeable when car goes under an overpass but has also happened at other times. Seemingly when crossing intersections. Have not noticed this on fm.

When my vehicle is in motion, driving through city streets, and I try to apply the break it accelerates instead. The RPM's will reach 4000 or 5000 and hold there. I was told by chrystler to apply the gas quickly then break when this happens to stop my vehicle. This is unsafe and I do not feel comfortable in my own car. I also have an issue with the engine making a knocking sound at times, and the radio fades in and out, with that feature turned off, as well as shutting completely down and resetting itself. Prior to the recall in Nov of 2018 this same vehicle from one week of purchase would stall while I was driving through city streets. All of these things happen at a speed of 35 or less. The car went from stalling to after recall update it is now accelerating when trying to stop. The dealer has not been able to replicate and chrystler either so they are saying there is nothing wrong with the vehicle. I do not feel safe in my own car. I am worried there will be a time I will not be able to stop the car before causing an accident.

March 2019 I was making a right hand turn going about 4-6 mph onto a busy highway, when all of sudden my vehicle stalled in the middle of the lane I was turning onto. All the dash lights turned on. I placed the vehicle quickly in park, restarted the vehicle, placed it in gear and hurried to get out of the lane of travel. I then noticed a warning light, it's the auto stop start symbol with a circle around the a with an exclamation point near to the mileage area. Thankfully I took a picture of this error. I took my vehicle to napleton and the service advisor stated that the vehicle could have a battery issue or the oil in the vehicle was low. The best thing about the error sign is, that it clears after you shut your vehicle off and restart it. Even after showing the picture of the error the service department can not duplicate the issue. Stated the vehicles system is not showing any error codes when they plug in their code box. It's been already 4 different occasions my vehicle stalls while turning or stopped at a light trying to move forward. I guess Chrysler will not recognize the issue they are having with these vehicle until someone loses their life and they get sued for damages. I shouldn't have to deal with a stalling problems a new vehicle with less than 5000 miles.

Car radio/computer turns off several times while driving, won't reconnect to carplay (which has navigation) until you stop the vehicle and restart the engine, car does not register fob action (unlock, restart, open tailgate, alarm) and the batteries were good and the car didn't give alert that no fob was detected. Once I finally got in the car, the engine wouldn't start.

The vehicle keeps stalling without warning recal#UA9/NHTSA 18V-739 the dealer had the car to fix the recall. The car still does the same thing as it did before recal. It has been in 6-8 times for this problem. Dealer installed a data recorder and it did not record an event twice. It happens on the hiway, the street and in front of the house when going into driveway;

The vehicle's electrical system does not work properly. The uconnect screen fades in and out to total blackness. You cannot read anything. There is no way to change any of the settings. I had to turn the car off, start it again to get the screen to come on. It is dangerous when you are driving and have to guess what is happening on the screen. The radio does not work right. I start the car and it either comes on full blast volume, and then fades out to no sound, or it just has no sound at all. I followed the owner's manual to reset the uconnect system using the uconnect menu reset button. That did absolutely nothing! I cannot trust the car or the screen in the uconnect system. The second issue and it is a big one! the car stalls when you step on the accelerator! I tried to pass a car, and stepped down to accelerate and the Jeep stalled! I almost wrecked! when you step down on the accelerator the engine feels like it is going to stall. I am not a mechanic, so I do not know if all of this is electrical, or engine related. This is an on going problem.

The contact owns a 2019 Jeep Cherokee. While driving, the vehicle lost power without warning. The contact shifted into neutral and the vehicle restarted. The instrument panel indicators flashed as the contact drove home. The following day, the vehicle was started, but then shut off and failed to restart. The contact called the manufacturer and had the vehicle towed to fairfield Chrysler Dodge Jeep Ram (1409 montour blvd, danville, pa 17821, (570) 275-3300). The dealer diagnosed that the ABS unit needed to be replaced. After two weeks, the contact drove the vehicle and it stalled two miles later. All the instrument panel indicators illuminated again. The contact was able to restart the vehicle and barely made it home. The vehicle was towed again to the dealer where it was diagnosed that there was a loose wire. The vehicle was currently at the dealer. The contact wants to return the vehicle and stated that it was unsafe to drive. The failure mileage was 13.

Less than 30 days of purchasing the car it completely shut down while I was driving in traffic. Battery light came on, car rolled to a stop and would not crank back up for a few minutes. This happened while driving at a speed of 55 - 60 mph. I called the dealership and they had me bring the car back in. Apparently this is a safety feature that happens when the oil is too low!!! they did not top off the oil when I purchased the car. However, this is not a safe thing for a vehicle to do. I could have been killed in atlanta traffic on these interstates. This is beyond dangerous and this " feature " was not disclosed at the time of purchase!

My 2019 Jeep Cherokee latitude plus has had a electrical problem starting 2 weeks after we bought the vehicle. The radio screen changes on its own to all the different features on the screen including turning the backup camera on while driving forward, turning the seat heater and wheel heater on and not shutting off, turning the heater and max A/C on and off, calling people while on bluetooth. This happens when the vehicle is in motion, stationary, on city streets and highway. I have taken the vehicle in 4 times so far for this issue. The service department has tested the battery voltage on 12/17/18 couldn't find a problem. Problem again on 01/14/19. Problem again 01/23/19, service department checked it, gave it back to me and said they were ordering a new radio. 01/28/19 radio replaced. After the radio was replaced the mileage was blinking and the electronic throttle system light comes on and then shuts off after starting the vehicle. 01/29/19 vehicle is back at the service department with the same issues (01/30/19 service department still has vehicle). I have video of the problem but can only upload photos so I took screenshots of the video.
