This problem may be covered under warranty. Ask your Jeep dealer.
So just adding the pictures so future buyers of the Jeep Cherokee will understand what they are getting. This 2019 Cherokee had catastrophic engine failure as depicted in the pictures. We had the engine replaced at 12000 dollars because the warranty at expired by one month. This car had 40700 miles on it and the Chrysler Jeep Corp do not care about its customers. This giant corporation has been a disappointment for my family and we refuse to buy anymore of their products. Again I just want a potential buyer to be aware of the engine problem I had with this 2019 Jeep Cherokee. I will keep letting the public know about this vehicle and how bad the engine is and no recalls to fix it. Anyways good luck to all

This is ridiculous - I bought a new car and have so many issues and the company is putting blame on anything other than the truth.

Where can I start with this trainwreck of a vehicle. I've owned this car used since 62k miles and purchased back in May 2023. It was a great car initially! Move forward to today 1+ year later (November 2024), and I am starting to see this vehicle fall apart right before my eyes.
Once you hit close to 80k miles, Jeep really stands for "Just Empty Every Pocket". Please do your research (I wish I did). I already knew the 4 cyl engine is already a ticking time bomb, but I didn't realize the 3.2 L V6 Pentastar engine after 2011 is one of THE worst engines to come off the assembly line from the manufacturer, and there's movement towards a class action lawsuit against Jeep's parent company due to the failing rocker arms for 2011+ models. IF YOU START HEARING A SLIGHT TICKING IN THE ENGINE, RUN AWAY!!!! THIS IS WHERE THE FUN COMES WITH SPENDING MONEY $$$!!!
Expenses so far: - New Radiator @ 76k miles: $500 for Mopar radiator + close to 4 hours of labor $700 = $1200 before tax, $1300 after tax. Why was there close to 4 hours of labor to install a new radiator? Well, you need to remove half the front end to even start working on the d&% thing. - OEM Lug Bolts replaced due to swelling. $75 labor fee for shop to drill them out + $40 for aftermarket lug bolts = $115 fix.
Problems I'm already seeing becoming an issue: - Failed Oil Filter Housing in top of engine bay (oil is starting to leak through housing. What a TERRIBLE design, they made it out of plastic and was bound to deteriorate overtime being close to engine heat). - Front Struts needing replacement (not much of an issue due to regular maintenance, but google the process to complete task. shop fees will add up. You need to remove the whole steering knuckle to replace strut which is a ridiculous and unnecessary measure. - Spark plugs are a 2+ hour job to change (again, regular maintenance, but you need to remove both intake manifolds. labor fees will start racking up $$$) - alignment components are terrible and need to be re-aligned yearly without fail. I've had other cars where as long as you rotate the tires and avoid potholes, you'll be fine with the alignment. not this car!!! - 9 speed Transmission is already clunky enough, but I have noticed it starting to slip. - radio/nav screen decides to not turn off randomly when car is shut off. If caught in time, gotta remember to pull the fuse to reset radio/nav.
Conclusion: If you go with ANY jeep model past 2012, enjoy it until 60k then get rid of it. I will never buy another used Jeep again. MOPAR is doodoo quality. I am keeping this car parked for 3 months until the Carvana trade-in value is equal to or more than my current outstanding loan (fun fact: carvana has the highest trade-in values for majority of cars, sometimes double than what dealerships offer you). Unfortunately, Carvana will sell this car to another poor soul. hopefully the potential buyer does research and reads my post.
