THE DOORS IN THE BACK ARE STUCK ON CHILD LOCK BECAUSE THE INSIDE HANDLES ARE BROKEN, AND ABOUT TO FALL OFF. THE ONES IN THE FRONT HAVE BEEN RIGGED BUT COULD COME OFF AT ANY TIME.

Absolutely SHOCKING that Jeep would not have a recall on interior door handles! Inexcusable and how extremely unsafe. We have been Jeep drivers for years (a well and many of our friends) and can not believe the poor quality of the interior door handles. The door driver's side door handle has completely broken off and has fallen "back" into the door frame.
My husband and I looked on line for a recall notice and were shocked at the complaints we saw and further shocked that there is NOT A RECALL!!!! Apparently we have been luckier the other Commander drivers but after viewing several entries on line, I fear it is only a matter of time now that the other handles will break.
The manufacture should be embarrassed that they are not taking care of their customers!!! God forbid anyone is in an accident and cannot get out of their Jeep Commander if catches on fire or slides into a river. That is a HUGE LAW SUIT JUST WAITING TO HAPPEN!!!!!
I can only imagine the CEO and other high ranking officers of Jeep manufacture would have had their Jeep repaired immediately as to not put their family and friend's in harm's way --- they should do the same for the customers!
I am working on the road and will log on again to add pictures, rant some more!!!

I am the original owner of this Jeep and the door handles are broken and you can't open the door from the inside. It's unsafe. It's very expensive to fix because you have to replace the whole door panel..

It is crazy to pay a lot of money for a top of the line car, but then both front door handles break! My jeep has all the extras and broken freaking door handles! Such BS! Jeep put these handles in a terrible place. The company really should replace the handles this was a major design fail!!! I thought it was just my jeep until a girl at work was thinking about buying a used Commander. All the handles were broke in the car but one. :/ For a family SUV it is very dangerous to have broken door handles! I hope my children never need to get out in a hurry!!!! Pish!!!

Door handle broke.....2006 Jeep Commander-I can't believe there has been no recall for this issue!!

There are so many Commander owners dealing with this issue of broken interior door handles it is ridiculous that Chrysler/Jeep is not willing to do a recall. Unfortunately something very bad will have to happen -such as someone getting stuck in their Commander burning to death-for them to understand this is a major safety issue!! I have 2 door handles that have broken and just waiting for the other 2 to do the same thing!!

HOW CAN YOU DISCRIBE NOT BEING ABLE TO OPEN YOUR DOOR. GOD FORBID WE NEED TO GET OUT DUE TO AN ACCIDENT! I WILL NEVER BUY A CHRYSLER OR JEEP VEHICLE AGAIN. NO WORDS COULD DESCRIBE HOW UPSET I AM. I SPENT A LOT OF MONEY ON THIS TRUCK. MY HUSBAND AND I WORK VERY HARD FOR WHAT WE HAVE. CHRYSLER/JEEP SHOULD STAND BY THEIR CARS. THEY NEED TO BE RESPONSIBLE FOR ALL THAT IS WRONG WITH THE CAR. THEY EXPECT THEIR PAYMENT EVERY MONTH WHY DO WE, THE CONSUMER HAVE TO PAY FOR A CAR/TRUCK THAT IS DANGEROUS!!

All the Commander owners that I have contacted have the same problem with the interior handles, some at least with one door - I told then that is just the beginning . The door handler part of the Commander has very cheap construction ........

All interior handles are broken which makes it very difficult to open. This is a MAJOR safety deathtrap. If the car was to catch fire, passengers can be trapped. There needs to be recall!!!!!!
- Yvette M., West Covina, CA, US
as far as I'm concerned this is a defect and i shouldn't have to pay drivers dooe and one passenger door
- Kathy K., Placerville, CA, US
It started with the passenger front door the handle cracked and fell to pieces inside the door, I just dealt with it .It still opened from the inside. Then the back passenger door did the exact same thing. Now both front and back driver side are cracking so its only a matter of time before they fall apart too. My sister also had a Commander that did the same thing she was smart enough to trade it in.Chrysler has agreed to help fix it. I still have to pay $900 out of my pocket.Just not fair!!

INTERIOR DOOR HANDLES HAVE BROKEN ON MY JEEP WHICH DO NOT ALLOW A PASSENGER TO EXIT THE CAR. POTENTIALLY VERY DANGEROUS. THERE HAS BEEN NO RECALL ON THE DOOR HANDLES AND THE OWNER HAS TO PAY FOR THE REPAIR WHICH IS ABOUT $550. PER DOOR Please Help
- Guillermo G., Jacksonville, NC, US
These door latch on interior doors are pieces of S*** . If I would've known I was going to have so much trouble with JEEP -I would not have bought ! I've own jeeps before BUT this will be the last one if they don't come up with a quick fix to this problem !!
I am tired of rolling down the window and reaching outside to open my door !!
I hope everyone does research on these before anyone purchases an used one and have problems like many of us are having ! Please JEEP do something before you loose some faithful buyers !

I have a 2006 jeep commander, and all of the inside door handles are broken. They just started crumbling one by one! Unreal! When I called the (800) in the owners manuel, they told me that no one else has ever complained! I immediately went online and found this site where I see all of the same complaints! Chrysler/Dodge/Jeep needs to take ownership of this problem. They told me that a recall happens when they start getting complaints. PEOPLE....CALL THEM AND TELL THEM YOUR STORY ABOUT THE BROKEN DOOR HANDLES. THIS IS SUPPOSE TO BE A TOP OF THE LINE VEHICLE. IT IS EMBARRASSING RIDING PEOPLE AROUND, AND THEY CAN'T EVEN OPEN THE FREAKING DOOR!!!! FUMBLING AROUND ASKING "HOW DO YOU OPEN YOUR DOOR" FOR REAL...JEEP MANUFACTOR YOU HAVE GOT TO DO SOMETHING ABOUT THIS. IT IS VERY DANGEROUS TO NOT BE ABLE TO GET OUT OF YOUR VEHICLE IN CASE OF AN EMERGENCY! I WENT TO MY LOCAL DEALERSHIP, AND THEY QUOTED ME OVER $2,100 JUST FOR THE STINKING PARTS, AND THIS DID NOT INCLUDE THE LABOR...WWWHHHAAATTT??? CALL THEM SO THAT WE CAN GET THIS PROBLEM TAKING CARE OF.
