I own a 2006 Jeep Commander 4X4 V8. I have had a ton of problems with it. It makes a terrible wind noise coming from the windshield, my ac sounds like a freight train when switch to or from ac, and the most dangerous is that my car dies while turning on a regular basis. I have taken the car in and the dealer tells me they can not find the problem. I am so annoyed with my death trap. I drive around my 3 kids, my husband, and myself. I fear for ours lives being in this car. It is unsafe and will end up killing someone one day.

My husband and I are leasing a 2006 Jeep Commander since Nov 2005. I have been involved in 3 separate traffic accidents on May 31 2006, August 8 2006 and September 20 2007. The engine stalled during low speed turns on both August 8 2006 and September 20 2007. I had just left a stop sign on May 31 2006 when my engine stalled in the intersection, resulting in a crash. I was cited for failure to yield on May 31 2006. I wasn't cited on August 8 2006 or September 20 2007, although the police report from the September 20 2007 accident describes a "failure to yield." I have also had ongoing tire pressure issues as well as intermittent brake failure issues. Prior to May 31 2006 I had never been involved in a traffic accident nor had I received any traffic citations. I am 48 years old. My vehicle was repaired twice after the first 2 accidents, but I am awaiting contact from the other party's auto insurer before proceeding with the repairs following yesterday's accident. I've brought the 2006 Jeep Commander in to bud mulcahy's Jeep on several occasions. That dealership is now closed.

Experienced engine stall and loss of power to instrument panel momentarily while approaching residential 30 mph speed. Had just pulled out of my driveway and was accelerating when it happened. I noticed the stall and looked at the instrument panel, which appeared to be inoperative. Then it 'came back to life' and I tried to accelerate. The engine responded and I kept driving with no other issues.

I just read an article in newspaper about the Jeep Commander's stalling problem. This has happened to me, but luckily, not at a high speed on the highway. The Commander has only stalled once on me, actually, within the last week, while driving, but many times it seriously hesitates when I start to accelerate. Questions to dealer said maybe it was poor gas, or a vapor lock (about the stalling)? I never had it documented with them about the stall, now after reading this article, I am concerned. The stall happened within the last week, so it has not been back to dealer. It started right up after I coasted to side of road, and placed in park. Have there been any complaints on the windshield angle, I have gone through three from rocks!!! glass very straight up! I do like the truck though. Purchase date approximate. I do like dealer, and have not addressed this problem to them (stall), because it only happened once, and I was unaware of current problem being looked into. I just wanted you to report mine in with your statistics.

Truck stalled 4 times twice at medium speeds with my wife and son in vehicle. Dealer could find nothing wrong at time. Happened again last week then happened yesterday twice with my wife driving out of state in the left lane doing 65 mph boom it just shut down couldn't even be started in neutral she had to go into the median strip stop put the vehicle in park and start it. Then 15 minutes later the same thing. The car is now at the dealer and so far told me they can find nothing wrong at this time.
