Commander

  • Automatic transmission
  • 60,000 miles

My seatbelts in the 3rd row broke and became nonfunctioning way too early in my cars life. I hardly use the 3rd row, which makes it even more terrible that the seatbelts broke. I feel like the issue is in how the 3rd row seat was designed to fold, possible putting too much pressure on the wrong spots. I called jeep to let them know I felt this was a major saety issue and that these seatbelts should not be breaking so early in a cars life. They declined to help me. I have owned a lot of jeeps and I will not purchase another after they declined to help me. I should not have to pay to replace defective seatbelts!!!!!

Commander Limited V8

  • Automatic transmission
  • 70,000 miles

I am reporting my 3rd complaint on my 2006 Jeep Commander. My little 8 year old niece was buckling her seat belt and it broke off in her hand! Now what if I had been in (God forbid) an accident with my children and nieces in the vehicle, what would have happened! If the locking mechanism of the seat belt can break off in an 8 year old girls hand, how is it supposed to restrain her , let alone anyone else, in a bad situation?

When I called about recalls, which my vehicle meets all the recall guidelines except the correct VIN number, they told me they couldn't help!
