Backing out of the parking space at work, I heard a loud bang similar to a gun shot. As I opened the car door I noticed all my brake fluid and power steering fluid gushing out the front of the vehicle on the ground. I could not drive the car as I had no brakes and could not turn the steering wheel. Had to have the car towed the following day to my mechanic's shop and find a ride home from work. My mechanic told me it was the sub frame under the car causing the problem and the bang I heard was the sub frame cracking and as a result the vibration of this caused the rest of the vehicle's accessories to be pulled out, with a cost to repair between 1,600 and 1,800 dollars.

I called Chrysler Jeep and was told the warranty expired in 2016 and they would do nothing for me even though there was NO recall one the part. Never will I buy another Jeep again.

Front sub-frame was replaced last year due to extreme rusting, we are now told rear frame is ready to fail for the same reason. We got the same response from Chrysler as others, there was an extended warranty but Chrysler did not notify us so warranty had expired. they should have notified owners THE DAY that the warranty was extended. There should be a recall! Like the others, I will not purchase another Chrysler product.

My 2007 Jeep Compass was making weird noises when I hit bumps - took it to the mechanic who discovered the housing for suspension, power steering is completely corroded and the area under the drivers feet is barely holding together....was advised to take it home and not drive it due to safety issues. Called Jeep and was told it's not their problem. This is the only area of rust on the entire under carriage but Jeep will not accept that it's a defect! I still owe almost $2000 and can't afford another vehicle. How can this not be an issue for Jeep? What's the next step in getting help because I am not letting this go!!

this jeep was garaged all its life. the frame member under the engine is rusting, and now cracking and making loud cracking noises. if it breaks it could be a very dangerous situation.
