Christmas lights all over dash... Missed work, got a rental, paid for a tow, then jaw dropped after estimated repairs....

Less than a year after having the TIPM replaced, my wipers have begun to turn on and off on their own, or just not working at all. The car has been back at the dealer for over a week. Findings are that the new TIPM which is less than a year old has failed again. They have not figured out what caused the new one to fail, and are still running tests to find out.

I bought this car used, maybe year and a half ago. Last month my headlight went out, so I replaced it. New headlight didn't work. This morning I took it to my mechanic & he did a quick fix, but told me the TIPM needed replaced. He said this is urgent as this could just cut out and put kids and I in harms way!!! He also stated Chrysler is well aware of this DEFAULT, and has tried to keep it under the covers; so no recall! If it is a problem that could caused serious harm IT NEEDS RECALLED!!! I looked up potential hazards for this problem and am shocked...I could be driving & my air bags could just deploy themselves, without an accident???? REALLY!!! So, if you are in a Chrysler 2005 to 2014...you are NOT SAFE EITHER!!!! GET YOUR ASS IN GEAR CHRYSLER...FIX THIS PROBLEM!!! I AM GOING TO NOW LOOK INTO CLASS ACTION LAWSUIT!

Less than a month after making my purchase, my left headlight stopped working. Brought into the dealer where I purchased the car, and they had it two days and it was working again. Within 24 hours the light stopped again. They kept it a week and had it working when I picked it up. I brought it back in a week later for the light as it would just flash on and off no matter what I did. They had it 3 more weeks before they were able to pin point the problem and replaced the TIPM.

We call it the Ghost in the Machine. . . our Compass just randomly started honking while driving, then when it was parked last week, it started with a millisecond beep and progressed to a long "I'm really pissed at you" Blast. The frequency got to the point where I had to drive home and disconnect the horn so my wife could use it to get around because people started giving her the Stink-Eye. I swapped out the TIPM after doing a lot of research online and it corrected it for about a week. The Ghost has returned. Any Recommendations?

So on February 10th while driving to my new duty assignment with my wife and kids my drivers side headlight quit working. I replaced the bulb same night and it didn't fix the problem, so I take it to midas and they tell me its the TIPM and that with parts and labor its going to be 950 dollars to fix. I am in the army and therefore don't make enough to fork out a thousand dollars for something I just paid 9000 for in the first place. So in order to get both headlights working properly I have to fix it, OR I can keep running the wire from my battery and headlight to a toggle switch ran inside the vehicle. WONT BUY ANYTHING CHRYSLER AGAIN!!!!!!!!

First started with the recalled cross member-which the dealership had "difficulties" getting my appointments right. Then I had fuel pump problems..the fuel pump was arching, so had to buy a new fuel pump (roughly $50) which costed me lots of money in gas seeing as this was my only transportation to work and I didn't receive my fuel pump until a few days later. Then my horn one day stops working. I had checked the fuses and they were all fine..so I just let it go...I don't use the horn really anyway, what's the big deal I have bigger problems in my life. Struts go about a month later..Then, a couple months later I have the outlet in my vehicle stop working. Oh well, at least I still had my lighter outlet, I will just have to buy adapters for my phone and GPS now...WRONG! That's not working either. Finally decide to looks this up online and from what I am understanding, it's my TIPM! Cheapest one I can find is $300! I always heard Jeep would last a good 300000. I just can't keep up with all of this with the kind of job I have and a daughter to support and bills to pay. Granted that my vehicle does have 170000 something miles on it..but it's always been well taken care of..the owner before me..which from what I've seen there has only been one...has taken INCREDIBLY good care of this vehicle and so have I and this is what I get in return.

If Jeep had recalled Cherokee for this problem, what about Compass? Is this an age problem? We were suppose to be covered under lifetime warranty, but noooooooooo.

I went to my garage to start my Jeep and it was completely dead. I had to get it towed to an auto mechanic and initially they thought there was something wrong with the computer. They ordered the part, tested it out, and it ends up that it's the Totally Integrated Power Module (TIPM) that is faulty instead. Now I need a new computer (which the TIPM fried out) AND a new TIPM, which means I'm out around $2,000! Plus the TIPM is on back order so my Jeep has been in the shop for almost 2 weeks without any other vehicle!
I will NEVER buy a Chrysler again.

Headlight went out bought bulb and replaced . Still would not work front passenger side. Took to mechanic we use said it was the Power train module and it would cost approx. $800.00 to fix! Diagnostic shows power into module and no power out.. Local carquest said they have never heard of this, online jeep parts dealer says unusual to go but he could sell me one for around $325.00! Also said I could try going to Jeep and see if it can be reset? Shouldn't have gone out! Not sure yet what we will do.

I bought this 2007 Jeep Compass 2.4L petrol vehicle used in 2009. It has been fraught with problems, mostly related to the electrical/computer system. This began a couple of years ago and has progressively gotten worse to the point that they are telling me that the TIPM is faulty and needs to be replaced at a cost in excess of 30,000 rands. The car is only worth about 40,000 rands, so it is apparent that the car must be scrapped for parts. Having done some research, the TIPM for Chrysler vehicles is a disastrous system that should be replaced by the company at their cost but they simply deny that there is a problem, though they have settled out of court on other TIPM issues with other vehicles.
