Literally drove the car off the lot, and 60 miles later the gears would not budge when I tried to down shift. I had to pull over and turn off the car in order to place the shifter into 1st gear, and afterwards it worked for one minute but then shifting became very difficult, so i turned it off again, put it in first and started it again. But the same thing happened, except 30 seconds later shifting became easy again except the gears became non-responsive, meaning regardless of the gear I was in, the transmission quit engaging as if all the gears were neutral. I will use my aaa membership and have it towed back. I hope they will take accountability for the cars condition as I literally purchased it 5 hours ago. I'll keep yall posted with any updates, wish me luck!

Update from Oct 9, 2019: SO turns out I'm just THAT unlucky, just needed to replace the clutch as it was fully worn.. $1400 fix luckily the dealership covered 80% of the cost.

Bought compass new 85000 miles and cvt total shot. But nobody will repair the car unless you order a new cvt transmission from the dealer. This is an awesome price to have replaced more than car worth.
I have had many more cars with 4 and 5 speed transmission way over 100,000 no problem. Let me add that my Compass never been treated rough or used 2 pull with, and kept serviced.
