This issue is in alignment with many other complaints regarding the ETC, and Check Engine light. These indicators will illuminate after the engine stalls, loses power, and/or cannot go above 25 - 30MPH. From the ETC indicator, (the two reversed parenthesis with a lightning bolt in the middle) I'm assuming would be relative to the throttle body control, or crankshaft issue/sensor. The conditions are that the engine will loose all power, and/or drop down to around 25mph. I barely prevented an accident while a tailgater was none other than 2 feet behind me @ 55mph when this issue happened. Now, when trying to start the vehicle, it almost seems like it does not want to, then suddenly it will. However, it acts like it is running rich, or stutters and cannot stabilize.

The ETC light will flash, and the traction indicator will illuminate and remain solid along with an engine light. If I turn the vehicle off (hopefully to reset) and restart it, only the engine light will stay on, and the engine starts to run normally - almost. If I try to drive, it will not go above 30mph as it will lose all power and/or shut off. After reading many other reviews here, this is a whole lot more than just a minor issue and is definitely a massive trend. Peoples lives are at risk. I went the usual route by plugging my VIN number at the kbb site, but returns that there are no recalls. This is a 2016 Jeep Compass and there are MANY recalls to date.

I can also see that many have been denied by Chrysler/Jeep to have this issue repaired, even though they have repaired some. This is not only unfair to the remaining consumers that still have this issue, but more so an extreme safety issue that consumers should be aware of and it appears that Chrysler/Jeep are unwilling to address this problem which could lead to many fatalities. Has a class action suite been started against Chrysler/Jeep? If not, one needs to be started as soon as possible. Are there any lawyers out there that are on this issue? If so, what is the requirement to get a class action suite initiated? This truly needs to be addressed as I barely got by without an accident occurring when this issue presented itself. I should not be financially responsible, as well as others for a repair where more than enough evidence that has been filed and recorded by many regarding this very issue, and is far from being conclusory by any stretch.
